XPort,

Would be nice to see your VM support working with Mame 0.87 core.

I attempted to upgrade your .84+VM to .87 but I didn't do something right. However I ran across this post yesterday. Maybe you or someone else knows enough to finish it up. Only problem is it is missing the VMM you added sad.gif

Quick update for anyone whose interested...

Uploaded my latest source (MAMEoX087) to the FBA-XXX djohng site. Based it on 0.84.3 with minor source changes for lightguns, MAME087 and VCCMAME087.

No, it's not complete. Try compiling and it errors out on the xbox controls portion (the last section)

The control source in MAME was changed drastically in 0.85. So the MameoX controls have to be re-written. Since most of my programming background is non-XBox related this will probably take longer than I expected; though I am making progress...albeit slowly since I have to learn the structure of mameox as it compares to the mame controls, while changing it.

Mostly xbox_keyboard.cpp and xbox_joystickmouse.cpp require the changes.

Link to source is at http://www.thraxen.c...u1/mameox87.zip

I'm not sure if this is a bug in a mame driver, but Rampart 3 player version only has dials for 2 players, the third player can only push his button, but not move his curser around.

I am looking forward to a .87 release of Mameox

Bug?

Getting "Run and Gun" to work with MameOX
Works fine (after initialising EEPROM) until you actually play a game...then it halts...after waiting 10 minutes...it plays at 10 times the speed. Tried every combination of VMM settings

Hummm... maybe the quick mame updates make this emu particulary hard to keep work in it regulary,,, we`re already in MAME 0.88u3 version :0 in PCs.

Anyone here achieve to calibrate your guns to play Lethal Enforcers II correctly?
By all Xbox emus out there this one really needs a option to disable flicker filter to get rid of the ugly blur when playing in a monitor or a progressive TV.

A feature I would love to see, and is sadly missing from many MAME variants, is the ability to set the Home/Arcade dipswitch for NeoGeo games. Mameox in particular needs it as the XBox, after all, is a console.
After playing Garou and it works damn near perfectly thanks to the VMM, it was a bit of a bummer to find out that it was locked to Arcade mode.
Other than that, it's a pretty damn awesome emulator, as are all the other "X-Ports". happy.gif Keep up the good work, and thanks!

does anyone know what directory should be inputed in settings when the emulator is run from the HD, and the roms are on DVD?

on xport emulators it is R:, and other emulators its A: and in boxplorer it shows as D:

my roms are on the DVD under \MAMEoX\roms

so ive tried :-

A:\MAMEoX\roms
R:\MAMEoX\roms
D:\MAMEoX\roms

and none of these seem to get the roms to show up in the list

any help would be appreciated

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 runs perfectly when you turn the sound off, but when you turn the sound on, it runs like crap. I've tried messing with the virtual memory options, has anyone had success running umk3 with sound on ?

Suguesting for next version:

The thumbstick should act as a trackball/mouse.  Right now in the current version it acts as a digital stick (only 8 directions).  Doing this would make more of the trackball games act properly (and then we could adust sensitivity in mame)

Basically almost all of the trackball games are close to impossible to play.  The steering wheel games act okay though.

Also, I know this would be a lot of work, but getting the emulator to look like the rest of your emulators.  I like the xport style alot, its very clean and is just easier to use.

Is it possible to keep the ROM settings (such as number of times played, "Strongly Liked, Liked , Average Etc") when you upgrade to the new Mameox VMM from an older Mame? It seems to keep some of this infomation, but allocated to the incorrect roms.
