Hi,

Having troubles getting GBC games Zelda  Oracle of Ages/Seasons to work. GBA Zelda games worked fine. Tried to play around with game configuration - save type, gba real time clock, nothing changes. Screen goes white and back to game selection screen. Also tried different rom of the games.

Any idea what it could be?
Thanks.

hey, I've been wonderin for the longest time.... what can I do with the worthless gameshark option? it doesn't let you enter a full code, just a single line of code, and I don't see how that would work very well. I'd like to be able to use the gameshark option. but, I would also like to know how I could use cheat files from my pc emulator on the Xbox emulator. if it's possible, might it also be possible to use game saves from the pc emulator on the xbox emulator? thanks to anyone who answers any of my questions =)

I need help putting the GBA emulator on my xbox.  Also ya'll say that the emulator is Xboyadvance when the actual link to download is VisualBoy Advance so which is for xbox.  I have been going from forum to forum trying to figure out how to just put a GBA emulator on my xbox.  I was told AID then FTP but neither one of them worked. I have a modchip running EvoX.   Everytime I tried to FTP before it would connect to the server it said "Connection forcefully rejected" and my computer would say "Connection failed".  Then I tried AID but when I downloaded the software it included nothing that was mentioned in the instruction manual.  So I'm begging is there anyone...anyone at all that can help me put a GBA emulator on a orginal Xbox.  If you can just email me at [email protected]

Thanks,

I've looked through not only the FAQs, but other questions as well and have had NO luck finding an answer to this problem. I've been playing The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX on XBoyAdvance and can't access the secret dungeon (which requires the game to be played on a gameboy color). The gameplay uses the game's GBC color scheme, not black and white, and yes, I have completed all game-related requirements to access this dungeon. From what I can tell, the game doesn't think it's being played on a gameboy color. I set the "Gameboy Type" to "GB/GBC" and tried again, but still, no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, it is xboyadvance and it can be found on xbins. Google "how to access xbins" and you'll soon be on your way. You'll need a chat client, I use mIRC.

As far as the ftp thing, google how to ftp to an xbox. I usually set my X-Box IP to the same as my computer's IP except the last digit is one different. It makes things really easy to remember. (Go to Start...open run...type cmd...in the black box type ipconfig to find out your comp's IP.)

Use Flash FXP, it's much better than explorer when it comes to FTPing.

I hated having to figure out how to FTP to my box too, but once you get it you're golden. Of course at the time, I didn't even have internet access so I couldn't just google a solution.

If you have XBMC burn your apps to a CD-RW and copy them over that way if you don't have luck FTPing.

Feature Request:

First, a brief explanation: I HAVE read the FAQ, 3 times in fact (the 3 links confused me haha). I have read and understand your explanation to the question: "Why can't I get rid of the E:\SAVES\ ??"

Here's what I'm looking for, hopefully something you won't take offensively but rather as a way to help make Xboy Advance more tailored to meet different user prefferences:
 Instead of ONLY having a E:\SAVES\*.ini file, can it be made that there be a default.ini file in root directory of the default.xbe file that directs to 1 of 2 options: a) tells the xbe file to reffer to E:\SAVES\*.ini for settings OR cool.gif tells the xbe file to reffer to [base_dir]\xboyadvance.ini

The default.ini file would be something very simple, for example:
     direct_to=E:\SAVES\xboyadvance\xboyadvance.ini
OR
     direct_to=[root_dir]\xboyadvance.ini

OR an even more simplified version can something as easy as:
use_root_dir=1   (where 0 = use 'E' drive, 1 = use [root_dir]\xboyadvance.ini)

So what I mean is, default.xbe would FIRST read default.ini which in turn would reffer to either the E: drive or the root directory.

I feel that this would accomodate:
- those that wish to burn xboyadvance to a CD and allow them to change their seetings and have them remember,
- those that wish to burn xboyadvance to a CD with the settings exactly as they like so they cant be changed,
and
- those that would like have xboyadvance installed on their HDD without needing the xbe file to refer to any external files other than those within it's own folder.

Please please PLEASE can you do this??? PLEASE!!!!! smile.gif

p.s. while your at it, is there anyway to make a save/load settings feature? I noticed if one is to manually edit the xboyadvance.ini file the app doesn't load and just freezes on a blackscreen. This sucks when I want to set it up on my friends xbox but instead of being able to just copy the settings over, I have to manually change everything again :s...

I hope you don't feel offended, I LOVE YOUR EMULATOR!!!, I just thought these two requests of mine would help tweak it in a small way and make a world of a difference for a lot of people. Thank you!!

That's because x-port set the emulator to default back to 2 (only occurs on games without save configs).  Probably to reduce complaints about games running to slow.  However the downside is it causes people to wonder why it resets back to 2....  blink.gif

Ha! Is there anyway to easily change that in the code for the next release? Its not a huge hassle, but it'd be nice if it would change the default when requested. smile.gif

Thanks again, I'm really enjoying all the updates you've made!

Maybe add a feature to allow games to auto launch with "0", and a warning box that you should only select this option if you have an upgraded Xbox?

Some people have upgraded motherboards with (I believe) twice the processing power.  A more common upgrade is upping the memory from 32MB to 64MB, but I've heard that other than arcades, there isn't much benefit to this.

Not something I'd ever bother with, but would probably be a cool option to put in there for users like DM.
