How could my eeprom be screwed!? I had the same issue with fragging on the last motherboard, and assuming that the problem was with the mobo I bought a new one. Ive checked up an down and it doesnt seem like theres any solder splashes aynwhere. This is really starting to get tedious, soon enought I might just scrap my xbox and get a new one.

dunno how the eeprom could be screwed... i had a customer with an executer 2, chip in his box this one time. box did nothing when powered on no video or audio.. powered on and wouldn't do anything else but frag. chip had a good BIOS on it. TSOP was fucked (as in your case).. put the chip in my box and it booted fine to unleashx dash. got a eeprom from a scrap mobo with lifted traces everywhere. installed it in his box.. thing booted perfectly...... to this day, i've yet to come up with a reason why his eeprom was blank.... but it was!

fucked eeprom is no big deal
just get your programmer and use a bios with embedded eeprom and boot from that. if it works use configmagic to restore the eeprom...

Well where exactly is the eeprom, just for reference. After I check the chip with a bios I could replace the eeprom if it doesnt work.

yeah and you need soldering skills..... yet downloading a bios with a built in eeprom and writing it to the mod (which hes gonna have to do anyway) is too much work?
riiiiiigggggggghhhhhtttttttttttttt.............
so your saying it takes you 3 mins to open the xbox, desolder the chip, solder in a new one? i doubt it.

i fail to see how that can be faster or easier than just firing up config magic and hit "write eeprom"

plus, what if he doesnt have a spare eeprom?? he can repair his existing one....

that was the stupidest thing ive heard all week

all week... its fucking monday...
hey dumbass.. considering he cant even boot evox, and his box wont even boot anything, i think that if its the eeprom he's gonna need a new chip! unless he installs his chip in someone elses box, and writes a new eeprom .bin file to it or uses a programmer that he doesnt have......... well,  then thats a different story..... read before u make a dumbass comment.. BTW Bad_Ad, if you cant solder, u have no busniess even opening your box...

so, your clearly a dumbass?

i can solder fine, and why would he need to replace his eeprom?
you use an embedded one in the bios, then you can flash the onboard one with what ever you like, it doesnt need to be the image from his eeprom, any will do.

so again, you are wrong, i think you should learn what you are talking about before helping any "clients" you have.

so, using your method, hes gonna replace the eeprom (which he doesnt have a spare) then hes still not going to be able to boot his xbox as the tsop doesnt work... so he needs the programmer anyway....

i think you need to learn to read before acting like a dumbass and spewing shit to someone asking for help.

your method:

he needs to be able to solder
he needs a spare eeprom
and hes still gonna need a programmer for his mod as the tsop is fucked.

my method:

he doesnt need to solder
he doesnt need a spare epprom
and he still needs the programmer anyway.

so, how is your way better again?

Ok here's the full story. I attempted an hdd led mod, fucked it up. Bought a new hdd on ebay. Then I realized I cant use this new official hdd, because it wont be locked. So I bought a modchip a chameleon. Then I botched the install. and bought a new motherboard after my friend's dad tried to fix it. Now I have a new motherboard, that I bought from a guy who messed up the tsop, he said it'd work if I had a modchip, but now it's still fragging out. I believe it to be either the modchip, i.e. bad or no bios. Or the power supply like someone suggested. Please someone help. I've sunk too much money into this now. It's getting to be that I might just buy a new xbox, but I don't have 180 bucks either.

ohh, forgot to bring this up Bad_Ad look, he does have a spare motherboard, what to all xbox motherboards come with? ahh, thats correct, an eeprom chip. word of the day "READ"

he has a motherboard doing EXACTLY the same as the one hes using now

so please shut up and go be "anal" in the corner by yourself.

whats the point of de soldering components when you dont even know if thats whats wrong?

why dont you try getting a working bios on the mod if that dont work, embed a epprom, if that works then you know your epprom is fucked before jumping in the fucking deep end doing shit you might not even need to do.

as a programmer and pc engineer, i dont believe in rushing in and doing shit when its not needed, thats why you test things, to find what needs replacing and what doesnt you fucking dumbass.

i dont see how you can believe in "doing things right the first time" when you dont even know what is fucking wrong?

you are seriously digging yourself a deeper hole bringing up all this bullshit.

you should test and test again to find whats wrong, then fix what needs fixing, not just start whipping out epproms etc etc when you dont know what the problem is..

also theres a clean image on the usual server thats not for live etc, but will be fine to test if its the epprom before he start whipping out components and possibly making his problem worse (this did all start with a bad mod attempt in the first place, so you are putting alot of trust into his ability after already screwing up once)

*edit* in fact hes screwed up twice already, not once.
so you want him to just start ripping out epproms now after already failing a HDD mod and screwed mod chip installation...?

you obviously have no experiance providing tech support, just because you can do something doesnt mean they can. so i provide solutions that are safe for people to try even with little/no skill.

i do this kind of thing for a living, why dont you go back to your test tubes?

and 3rd post in a row (sorry)

what if its only the mod chip that is fucked?

and we already know the tsop has a bad flash, so it cant boot from that, then theres NOTHING wrong with the epprom, so its hardly a "100% fix" when you still dont know whats wrong with the god damn thing.

alright. I think first, Im gonna check the mochip. I have someone willing to sell me a programmer for 10 bucks. Then if its in tip top shape Ill go about doing the eeprom. That's when Ill decide if Ill do it manually or through the programmer.
