Does the xbox frag without the chameleon connected... if so you need to look at the D0 line continuity

If it doesnt frag then look at the content of the chameleon. maybe boot to a different bank and reflash the bank1

Turn the xbox on with the DVDROM Drive not connected on the IDE cable. If it doesn't frag then, you'll need a new drive. This happened to my friends thomson drive, oen of the pins on the IDE connector on his thomson snapped off.

Well right now nothing is connected. No dvd, no hd. When I unplug the chameleon it frags out, but I thought that when the d0 point was connected with a wire it is supposed to frag out anyways. And is there anyway to test to see if it's my power supply, without buying a new one. Also, is there any way to flash the bios without a programmer? Thanks.

Edit: Checked the d0 point. Looks good.

it shouldn't frag if you removed the chip somebody correct me if i'm wrong but the way the mod chip works is that when the d0 point is grounded that it boots the bios from the lpc port and and when its not grounded that i boots from the xbox bios chip.

so...
1 d0 point is grounded
2 there is something wrong with the mod chip and you bios on your xbox
3 LPC port is fried on the inside (my problem)

I bought a new board and it fragged when i had the chip enabled useing the pin headers but with tweeking it a bit i use the wires and soldered them to the pins and now it works fine it may not look the best but hay it works. i saw a guide on checking the lpc port it may help you out ive been look to try to fix my board but can't find it if you find it let me know.

Well I dont know what my first step should be in trying to fix it? Should I get a programmer and see if the chip is dead or has no bios? Or should I check my psu?

Ok here's the full story. I attempted an hdd led mod, fucked it up. Bought a new hdd on ebay. Then I realized I cant use this new official hdd, because it wont be locked. So I bought a modchip a chameleon. Then I botched the install. and bought a new motherboard after my friend's dad tried to fix it. Now I have a new motherboard, that I bought from a guy who messed up the tsop, he said it'd work if I had a modchip, but now it's still fragging out. I believe it to be either the modchip, i.e. bad or no bios. Or the power supply like someone suggested. Please someone help. I've sunk too much money into this now. It's getting to be that I might just buy a new xbox, but I don't have 180 bucks either.

well, judging by what u said. the box isnt gonna boot without fraggin with that chip and without the chip even connected.. that makes perfect sense because your TSOP is fucked because of a bad flash. if the box frags with the chip enabled (i.e connected) then u probably have a blank or bad BIOS on it. there are ways to flash a chameleon without a programmer, but u need another chip with a good BIOS on it to load evox. if your box turns on fine and runs fine its not the power supply. try setting the chameleon to bank 3, usually they come pre-flashed with the cromwell BIOS on it.. also, can u give us an error code or tell us what the colors of the LEDS are when its fragging?

so it has audio and video? shows the green blubber movie on startup? if so, i would bet your chip has a bad BIOS on it.. did you try to boot it from bank 3 yet?

No it doesnt give me anything. It frags out, but you also have to remember that there is no bios at all, because of a bad tsop. And I tried booting from bank 3, nothing. So i guess my next step will be getting a programmer.

well, if you're not getting anything i.e no video or sound, umm.. bad soldering job, splashed solder on a trace, lifted a trace, or bridged a connection. look over it again, look REAL HARD! if everything is connnected and looks 100% prefect, $100 bucks says your eeprom is fucked..
