Hi XPort !

I have seen a new Winuae is out WinUAE 1.2 (20.02.2006) .

When you update WINUAEX you have also a new Version.

I don't know what's changed in the PC builds since the last Xbox version.

But for heaven's sake don't update anything that's going to decrease performance.

I think I should wait for Xport's announcement about new WinUAEX release, but... I'd also like to say that Competition Pro USB support under some emulators (Amiga, C64, Atari...) would be absolutely wonderful.

I hope it'll happen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I cannot fire WinUAEx up at the moment to take a look, but was there a "lores" option?

I've got a desktop PC which is a pretty lame 733 P3 and the new WinUAE 1.2 for XP have been running quite poorly, until I set a resolution of 360x288 with LoRes, no centering, no doubling, etc.

Now it works great. I dont know if the settings can be moved over to WinUAEx

For purists only...

If you set your resolution to 720x480 or 720x576 and use a custom screen size of 907x622 you're pretty close to the real thing. No scaling will occur and no need to use billinear filtering.

I found this screen setup with the help of Dpaint. Filled the screen with a dot pattern and looked for scaling artfefacts or moirés.

907x622 sounds a bit odd...but it seems to work just perfectly.

Hello here,
nice work, I was a damn ST owner and now I'm trying to upgrade my Amiga culture on WinUAEx smile.gif

Is the USB supposed to be supported? Because it doesn't work here with WinUAEx v9. (And in WinstonX either by the way)

Thanks!

My god this works beautifully and this has been a problem for me for a while.Xport has done such a great job bringing this to xbox but if there was one thing i like , it's super clear pixels - point filtering is super clear and this practically perfect positioning makes things both accurate in representing pixels and keeping them crystal.

Cheers for this super tip

Actually it now appears that a the perfect numbers are 908 , 624.Of course not all games are going to gain from this as the screen ends up being too big for some but it works very well for most.Try this on workbench 3.1 and alternate beetween point and bilinear to see how nice things can look.

Those 2 extra pixels seem to work perfectly, thanks for this additional tip.

I did mention this earlier but thought I probably should do it again.. so here goes.
There's a nasty bug in the current WinUAEX regarding harddrives that's really annoying.
If I boot Workbench from a hdf file or any other bootable hdf for that matter WinUAEX still detect a disk in drive DF0 as DF0:??? even when no disk is inserted.
That's not supposed happen and it affects some WHD installs such as Jaguar XJ220 and Agony.
It's impossible to save progress in Jaguar and Agony refuses to save highscores.

Yeah I mentioned this earlier as well.  Not sure why the issue was not addressed though.
