Couldn't edit my post so here's a temporary link for the GB64 v05 screenshots.

Retroplay, thanks for the screenshots pack, though I can't see myself using it.

The reason for this is there are some bugs I have noticed with the sound, it tends to skip every 15-20 secs or so regardless of the game you are playing which makes it so annoying to use the later versions, there are a few other bugs with the image resizing mainly but I could live with these if only the sound was stable. Have you not  noticed the same bugs as I have in the later versions of Vice64X since the big XPort update or have you found a way around them?. No-one else has seemed to mention it which I find really strange, so I'm stuck using GB v1.  sad.gif

Yeah, thanks for the pictures update.  I created ones for all the previous versions.  Nice to see the new gamebase out now, finally!  I'd approve them over on xbox.nugnugnug but the modules seem to be out of order.  So hopefully the will get taken care of by hargle.

as I posted on nugnugnug (just a few seconds ago) there's nothing in the upload queue to approve.  The file never made it.  Sorry.  I hope you can try it again, otherwise I'll go grab the files myself when I am at home.

madmab, you should still be able to get to the updownload module, just click 3rd party from the admin menu.  If that doesn't work, I will have to look into it for you. (let me know-we should prolly take this to PM)

Never had any issues like that with any versions of Vice64X or Gamebase64.  blink.gif
The only problem I've encountered so far is that Enforcer - Fullmetal Megablaster from the Gamebase set doesn't work even if truedrive emulation is enabled (works in newer VICE versions).
But other versions of the game are available and they work fine.  smile.gif

blink.gif Really?

Could you just do me a massive favour and next time you play a game just leave the music running and pay special attention to it for say 30 seconds or so to make sure the sound isn't skipping?

I don't know what the hell could be going on.  ohmy.gif

Any ideas anyone?

Nope, no skipping in music here.
Is your XBOX running in NTSC mode ?

Oh God no, how wrong would that be! I do remember seeing another person on here who mentioned it, I really don't know it is, maybe I'll try to delete everything, all the saves the whole lot, and then re-install it.

Retroplay, thanks for you're help.

You're welcome.  smile.gif
Most C64 games where made for PAL machines, so I suspected that it was probably because of an NTSC issue.
Same thing applies to WinUAEX btw, most Amiga games are PAL too.

OK I'm gonna try what said, can I just ask you what version you're using Retroplay to be sure. Is it the latest build?

Yes.

Right, I deleted every single trace of the old Vice64X ver.4 I had on the xbox, all the saves, screenshots the whole lot. Reinstalled the newest version 7 on both my 1.2 and 1.6 Xbox's and I'm still greeted with the sound skip, it;s very minor but very annoying. IT's just a tiny little stutter in the music and as the SID is such a wonderful chip it's a shame to have it happen.

I really quite sure it's not my Xbox and it's a bug of the emulator, it has to be it can't be anyhing else as I'm using the same version as you on a PAL Xbox in 50hz.

It's such a shame that other people haven't notcied this, but if you have can you please just confirm it here so I don't think I'm going totally mad. If we don't mention it, it will never get fixed, and I would love to have GB v5 on my Xbox and take advantage of all the goddies that the newest XPort UI offers.

XPort if you're reading this could you just check it out please if you have the time.

Thanks a lot.

I also get skipping in the sound, it's definitely a bug in the emulator.

While playing creatures last night, i kept an open ear for the skipping while i was at the title screen (looping music) and yes, every now and again (~1 minute) there is an ever so slight skip, not enough to spoil the enjoyment though.  smile.gif

I'll have to try some other stuff to see if i get it all the time.
