Prompts From Samba Share Password

Is there some secret to 2.0.0 to convincing it not to prompt me for a password each boot?

I have several locations defined for samba shares off drives on my XP SP2 box.  I can access content only after re-supplying the password: fun with the onscreen keyboard!!  The authentication screen contains the username, the location configuration contains the username and the correct password, and yet on every boot I'm prompted for the share password (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
