Adjust Trigger Sensitivity Possible?

hi guys,
           i have an arcade machine with buttons soldered to joypad connections, the triggers are soldered to two black buttons so i kind of have an all or nothing adjustment but this is ok for what i want, but, every so often one of my triggers seems to be just activated ie. when im watching a movie it forwards at 2x by itself. So, what im wondering is, if its possible for me to decrease the sensivity of the joypad trigger buttons using the xml file in xbmc. Thanks in advance for any help.
