Please Help! Problem With Mosaic On Parts Of Picture

I've searched the net for a solution to the problem, but can't find it.
Here goes:
When playing either with XBMC or playing DVD, i get a problem with parts of the picture turning into mosaic for a couple of seconds. Then the picture turns normal again. This happens frequently when watching media. Does anyone know what causes it? Is it the chip or mainboard maybe?
