Streaming Media Issue
« on: November 28, 2007, 02:01:00 PM »

I am currently having an issue with streaming a http video stream across my network (wired) to my XBox. It used to work perfectly until recently.

I am streaming from the P2P TV software - Sopcast.

I just have an M3U playlist with the address of the stream. It buffers up fine and streams well but it'll randomly drop out every minute or so which is extremely annoying.

The stream works fine streaming from the computer with Sopcast to any other computer on the network without any dropping out.

For those who know Sopcast I just simply use the address of http://192.168.1.64:8902/ or http://192.168.1.64:8902/tv.asf.

Is there any reason that XBMC would have an issue streaming when it never used to? The stream is only ~300kbps so the network speed isn't an issue since it can stream DVDs and XVid stuff quite easily.

The XBMC version is T3CH build, not sure what date though, but any recent updates I've done haven't sorted the problem.

It is just a WMV/ASF stream @ 320x240.

Any ideas?

I tried that but I could've got the wrong setting so I just went straight into the GUI XML file and changed it there so I'll give that a go this afternoon. Hopefully it'll work.

On the TVKoo front it uses....

http://127.0.0.1:9800 so port 9800!

So just put the IP of the system with TVKoo software and stick 9800 on the end.
