Is there any way of adding more codec information when you press the title button on the xbox remote whilst watching a film eg which codec was used to encode the film divx6 or divx3 or xvid 1.....doesn't matter if there isn't any way of doing this, as I know your time is directed on more important fixes and updates!!

Push the white button, I'm pretty sure, should show a&v codecs , frame information and buffer levels.

I'm getting much better playback of streaming files so far, would the buffer changes be the cause?
Madcat playlists seem to be running much better without locking up.

Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The last build release made the default player for FLV MPlayer instead of DVDPlayer. Dunno if those are the files you're streaming.

You can get some info on codec types with the title/white button, but it isn't always complete. The H264 files I have come up as "MPEG4 Video (H264) 640x480 23.98fps [Video]", no mention of the bitrate.

Media Player Classic also hides it for these files, though I can get the figure via VirtualDubMod (1027kbps apparently).

Most files I stream are video podcasts of some sort using madcat media browser script, so theres allot of varied files. A fair amount of h.264 now, but you get wmv's and the odd flv.

Well, it's been a while since I last installed a new XBMC version.
This probably sounds stupid, but how do I add/explore the DVD Rom? I added my "Videos" folder by using "Add source", but I can't seem to add the DVD Rom. I can only use the yellow "Play" button, which plays the first avi on the DVD.

k i think i found a bug guys. i tried playing an mp4 anime file and it plays fine but then video freezes. audio plays fine. im guessing it has something to do with the way xbmc opens mp4 files (memory leak maybe) because it does this for all my mp4 files. i converted em to mkv and it seems to be playing fine right now.

The MC360 skin isn't showing any text....  did I do something wrong?

make sure you have the latest xbmc t3ch version. also check that you have the latest mc360 skin and check that your language files are up to date.

also the movie info popup has the characters going out of the box-margins in the past few tech pal builds.

could be a quick fix as it seems the top row is too low making the whole field too large

Hi

Ok, I'm doing my head in as my XBMC seems to have gone mad on the last few updates.

I use to be able to connect to my PC with putting the IP address to play media files.

Now all i get is Connection Refused etc.

I tried booting into my other WinXP copy and it seems Ok, but I don't understand.

Would WinXp stopped access to the XBox? as I can still FTP from the PC so am a little confused.

The only thing I got from the log file is this

ERROR: SMBDirectory->GetDirectory: Unable to open directory : 'smb://username:pwd@pcname/myvids'
                             unix_err:'16' nt_err : 'c0000008' error : 'Invalid handle'

Thanks

Just an update

I can connect to a USB hardrive through my router but no shares from my PC?

Any idea what's going on?

I have WinXP home.

Thanks
