Xboxmediacenter - October 7th 2007 Svn Rev10457 Build
« on: October 08, 2007, 05:38:00 AM »

XboxMediaCenter SVN rev10457 build of October 7th 2007 compiled by T3CH

This is a complete snapshot of what was in SVN at the time the build was compiled, with just a few small additions:
   + Killarny & Nuka1195 & Pike's Apple Movie Trailers (AMT) SVN pre0.99.1 rev1526 [scripts/Apple Movie Trailers]
   + EnderW & Blittan's XBMCScripts Installer 1.8 SCRIPT [scripts/XBMCScripts]
   + Team XBMC Lyrics 1.5.5 rev1325 SCRIPT [scripts/XBMC Lyrics]
   + Asteron's Tetris 1.1 SCRIPT [scripts/Tetris]
   + Nuka1195's T3CH Downloader SCRIPT rev1450 [scripts/T3CH Downloader]
   + Codecs for mplayer [/system/players/mplayer/codecs/:*]
   + PM3 Red Theme + PM3 Blue Theme by Jezz_X

Special Note From T3CH:
QUOTE

* Apple Movie Trailers (AMT) script updated to rev1526; now includes AMT plugin installer. Separate AMT plugin removed.
* I'm including the >>XBMC Win32 PC environment<<.exe that is meant for skinners & python developers, read more about the concept here. It was built using Microsoft DirectX Summer 2004 SDK.
* I've tweaked the win32 >>run_me_first.bat<< so it runs and then unmounts the virtual drives when you exit.
* If you want to report bugs, please do it the PROPER way, see http://www.xboxmedia...oper_Bug_Report

INSTALL NOTES from T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE

* APPLICATION INSTALL
- Fresh Install: Transfer _whole_ XBMC folder to your APPS folder (or where you want it).
- Upgrade: Backup the XBMC\UserData folder. Transfer whole XBMC folder to Xbox.  Overwrite UserData folder with your backed up copy.

* DASHBOARD INSTALL (SOFTMODS)
ARE NOT COVERED IN THIS README, SEE http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=406656

* DASHBOARD INSTALL
- Option 1. Team XBMC's shortcut tool.
It's included in the _tools folder as <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>> + <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg>>.
Instructions here: http://xboxmediacent...=As_a_Dashboard (Option 1).
Rename the <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>>+.cfg & also EDIT the .cfg so it matches your config.
See APPLICATION INSTALL above.
- Option 2. Thanks to an app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now easy...
Transfer contents of XBMC folder (this is VERY important since the tool is hardcoded) TO "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<SHORTCUT by TEAM UIX.xbe>> to something your bios can boot  (see http://xboxmediacent...=As_a_Dashboard or read your BIOS README) and transfer to location your mod solution boots. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore,  and future upgrades you need not to worry about this file (unless you move XBMC).

* WIN32 PC ENVIRONMENT INSTRUCTIONS (WIN32 FOLDER)
Good to know, this requires DirectX9 Runtimes to be installed. Also this doesn't work with all graphics cards.
You need to:
- Copy XBMC_PC.exe & 'run_me_first.bat' from win32 to XBMC folder
- Run 'run_me_first.bat'
- Run XBMC_PC.exe

* UPGRADE TIPS
If you're updating from a VERY old/bad build you may get issues. Follow these simple rules:
- Replace (FTP OVERWRITE) all files in your XBMC folder with fresh ones from your new build
- Delete old settings (from UserData/guisettings.xml)
- In some rare cases some of the database files in UserData/Database/*.db may need manual deletion (usually if they are very old). Note: This loses all per file settings you made with the old build!

Plugins in the library is fantastic. Only thing missing now is some way to just dump a folder into the libarary view. For example I use a  "Misc" folder for temporary stuff. Then there would be no reason to ever leave library mode on regular use.

Also, being able to select Unwatched/watched in the recently added is great and very useful. I was wondering if it would be possible to always keep it at 25 entries though. So if you select Unwatched, you get 25 unwatched entries as opposed to just out of the regular 25 ones.

Anyway, great changes in this build, thanks for your hard work. Appreciate it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

possible to keep at 25; yes ofc. worth it; not really, would mean regrabbing each time you pushed that button, making the sql slower in all cases and so on.

video plugins in the library mode seems like they don't read tags correctly? when you browse episodes or files, they are not labelled as they are normally. Instead of episode title sometimes you get a sequence of numbers.divx or etc, something similiar depending on filename. I've only tried with the tv-links plugin and the podcast2 plugin. Both are effected though.

Great Build.  Really like the change "don't change container.folder thumb to the season thumb in the episode node of the video library".

I did log a change request & I'm really greatful it's been done.

That's what I love about this whole project.

Thanks yet again for another great build.

There is one bug I have reported several times that still exists (am I the only one who uses his XBOX to watch shows recorded on a Media Center?  I can't be).  Anyhow, I've reported it here

http://forums.xbox-s...&...t&p=4111923

and in the Bug Tracker

http://sourceforge.n...amp;atid=581838

Here's the basic idea behind the bug.

The Step Forward +1 min and Step Backward -1 min (DPAD Right and Left) is still not working correctly on DVR-MS video files recorded on a Windows Vista Media Center. The problem appears to be in the mplayer.dll file since I have an older build of the mplayer.dll file which when installed fixes the problem.

The problem is that when you step forward +1 (DPAD right) the video jumps about 7 minutes on a 1 hour show (it jumps 10 minutes on a 30 minute show). When you step backward -1 (DPAD left) the video again jumps about 7 minutes on a 1 hour show, and the AUDIO stops working (if you jump forward again the audio works fine)

Is there anyone out there who can take a look at the MPLAYER.DLL and see what needs to be fixed in order to make the problem go away?  If anyone needs sample DVR-MS files, or whatever, just let me know, I'd be happy to provide them.  I have 4 XBOX systems around my house, and they are used primarily for watching shows recorded on my Media Center server, so this problem, while not the end of the world, is a glaring bug (especially when I'm trying to show off in front of my friends.. see what I can do with my XBOX?)

Thanks

Mike
