Is There A Solution For Video With X264 Codec?
« on: August 14, 2007, 10:28:00 PM »

this codec is so clear but it's unfortunate that the xbox can't handle it. is there a option to tune down the video codec output so that the video won't lag/freeze during playback?

You could do the Intel P4, 1gig of RAM and Geforce 8800 upgrade on your Xbox?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

In a word no.... people tend to re-code this format with Xvid/Divx... I think Ultrabrutal on XBMC forum did a "how to" with really good results.

was recently wondering if there was any solution to this coz some of the files i've tried work up to a certain point then freeze/jump for about 20 seconds then work again then.... you get the idea.

seems a shame that its so close but then i guess some files i've tried don't work at all, freezing after the first couple of frames.

yes i know what you mean. for me whenever there is a fastpase scene.
you dont get to see it in a fast pase cinematic hehehee

i tried to disable all video cache and i get "FREEMEM: 22MB" instead
of 17MB that i usually gets. i am not sure if this did help even 5%. but
atleast somememory is free up. i'll try the external mplayer before
sort to re-encoding.
