Is anybody else having problems with the blade sides (sometimes menu text and options) dissappearing when playing movies in the background with the newest mc360 skin? (I'm always playing music videos in the background when this happens)

just updated to this, and first xbmc upgrade in a long long time.  my question is has there been a change in the playing back of video files in rar archives?  the ones i have are using store compression.  only a few work, but the majority of them do not.  anyone have ideas on how i can fix this?

Will the stuttering in videos be fixed in the next build?

Kind of a candy ass way to complain, don't you think.

I've experienced no stuttering. Maybe elaborate more with a link to a log file.

Is anyone else getting multiple database entries.  That is when I get the info for a new movie and enter it into the database (either manually or using the IMDB)  and then switch to library view there will be two or three listings of the movie.  One of which is the actual movie the other one appears to be one a different movie.

ex current library view is
1) Family Guy
2) Aliens

add movie The Departed and switch back to library now I get

1)Family Guy
2) The Departed
3) The Departed

the info for 2 and 3 is the same BUT if I play 2 it will play Aliens (or freeze) and if I play 3 it plays the departed.

Removing either movie from the library will clear both movies.  If I edit the title of 2 to aliens it will change both entries 2 and 3 to aliens.

I have tried clearing the database and reverting to one from a couple of builds back but on the january 1st build it couldn't find the database and on the Feb build the problem stayed the same.

I'd be happy to send a long file but what should I try to log.  The manual is a little sparse on how the database works

Thanks
M

i've actually had stuttering for the past few builds, but i figured I'd just wait to see the next release and thought it'd be fixed eventually.  for me, it seems to happen with only mp4 files though, and certain ones at that.  i've been testing it and it seems to be for my h264 and AAC encoded files.  i forgot to put xbmc into debugging mode, but the regular log says this:

QUOTE

Actually it's a fucking normal question. I am not complaining about shit, if i were it would have been like "omfg! please fix the stuttering!"

Manturafs i see we are having the same problems.

I think nukka was getting to the point that you have no proof or example of why it is stuttering and on what it stutters .  Its like me saying can you get rid of that blue dot in neXus (what blue dot, I see no blue dot, in what section, what screen, where on the screen etc etc ) You need to give way more info like debug logs, video codecs, and are you streaming it Wireless or wired network for the file you are playing.   Unless you can give the devs enough info to reproduce it it wont get fixed because you are being way way way too vauge.

If its a h.264 file then it probbaly wont be fixed because the xbox dosn't have enough processor power to run most them

Look at the log.  You're running out of memory i.e. malloc failed == cannot allocate memory.  There's not enough processing power or memory to play high bitrate h.264 video.  MP4 AVC takes horsepower to work.

yeah, that's what i figured and one of the reasons why i never posted about it.  i know that h264 requires horsepower but thought i'd bring it up as the reason for some of stuttering that people may be facing.  maybe that way people will be wiser about what they download/convert (which i have been).  i just saw people keep posting about stuttering in the past few builds without the details so I'd thought i'd paint a fuller picture.  thanks for all the work!  only 5 out of hundreds of files stutter.  smile.gif
