Winamp and Windows Media Player are able to connect to the Xbmc Server only with the aid of a Program/Plugin called On2Share Pro, the downfall of this plugin is that its a shareware program with limited features. Nero Showtime was able to connect to the server as well but its not very user friendly, their setup is bit of a hassle. Yahoo! Music Jukebox probably has the better ui of them all, it detects the server but when it tries to connect it puts an error out and the program justs shuts down. Curious on what programs anyone tested the Xbmc Upnp Server with.

DVD subtitles are still stuck on the Enabled as default. After a restart the subtitles turn back on even though i set the default to off.

I know Im not the one putting the work and effort forward but.. if I can even just play my MP3 it's woth it.

Right now I have to keep two copies of my music database.. one would be even better biggrin.gif

Also.. you would be my hero if you made the xbox upnp server respond to the search feature with a folder list so a guy may browse his media via the predefined folder list they have created.  This is the major downfall for me with windows media connect.  I have my media highly organized... once MP11 gets ahold of it it mixes it all up in its own very pathetic attempt at making things easier for me which in the end is a huge pain in the arse.  I never understood why microsoft insists on this Artist, Album, Genre crap.   WHERES MY FOLDER VIEW  grr.gif

Anyone know any hacks or registry keys to add folder view to MP11 and also a way to make that work with media connect.

Hi,

By default, xbmc advertises the folder view. So add a upnp share that points to the root of your folder and voila.
As far as WMP11 or WMC, there's a sub container called Folders. Go to Music for example, you'll see it. This is exactly the folder structure there. It's also found in Videos, Pictures and Playlists folders.

YME is terrible. I tried it last night. If you enable share my library, it crashes for me when it starts regardless of xbmc running or not. When I disable the sharing option, it's fine. As far as xbmc, it does fine it but it won't browse it. From what I saw once, they needed certain http headers in every responses that are supposed to be optional according to the http spec (like user-agent). I don't know if I want to spend time trying to find out how to make their crappy software happy.
As far as what programs were used:
- another xbox
- XBMC_PC
- Intel UPnP AV Tools
- Platinum SDk

This feature was made first to share xbox content with other xboxes. We will add support to other upnp clients if we see they add value.

SMB still doesn't work properly for me and hasn't since the 2.0.1 Final build. I play a video for a few minutes, press stop, screen goes black and the net work is lost. I then have to reset XBMC to regain the network. Every build since 2.0.1 has done this.

Back to 2.0.1 for me.

And you'll stay on 2.0.1 until you can provide a proper bug(on sf.net) report with wireshark traces and debug.

I take it this does not support the mc360 skin?  It does not come with it and when I installed it with that skin inside I get some slight graphical distortions on the blades with this skin.  Is that becuase this version of media center is not meant for that skin?  If it is something broken I am just trying to help by posting my findings.

Well it should work no reason for graphical distortion but that being said it is missing some of the new dialogs that you may need for it to work proper like Gamesaves, scrapper setter and the UPNP server setting dosn't work either but thats just off the top of my head

THanks for the update but the refresh button is still unselectable so there is no way for me to fix a movie info.  Also how do you add a new movie to the database with imdb info and not manually put everything in.  One thing I notice is that with this new database my movie loads up really fast, usually I had to wait like 15 seconds before the movie starts playing so thank you for the good work.  Aside from the refresh button not working, everything else is perfect. smile.gif

Is the development community actively working on the SMB issues? Or do you need someone supplying debug logs for the problems?

I have been trying to keep up with these threads about new builds, but I use SMB and I have seen some of the issues others have posted.  Namely skipping audio, or loss of audio after streaming movies or music for a bit.  Seems related to only those who stream using SMB.

I can test new versions and supply logs when problems are found if needed, I just don't know if it is needed.  I honestly have just used XBMC and chose stable versions.  But I like some of the new stuff in these builds, but cannot move to them without issue, so I have not moved.  Just wondering if I can be of help testing.
