XboxMediaCenter 2.0.1 - Released!
« Reply #15 on: December 09, 2006, 09:34:00 AM »

Since my pre-dominant use for my XBOX is Media, I am considering using XBMC as my Dashboard.

However, I do enjoy a game or two once in a while.  MADDEN, TIGER WOODs, etc etc...

Is there a menu option within XBMC to hit the games area?

Yes, you can access any games, emulators or applications, sorted accordingly, from the Programs menu.

I really love xbmc and the 2.0.1 release works great! however i would like to test the newer SVN versions once in a while, but at the same time use the stable 2.0.1 release. i.e. i want to test the new releases but my girlfriend hates changes.

Is it possible to have two versions of XBMC installed on the same xbox at the same time?
I guess not but i want it confirmed.

sure is.

xbmc >= 2.0 is all self-contained (i.e. all settings are stored within its directory).

Hey everyone,

I modded my xbox with Xenium Ice 4th gen chip a year and a half ago, and I installed Xbmc and haven't looked at cable tv Since, its amazing and it works great.. but recently I have tried installing a new one.. The newest t3ch releace (12-17-06) and I believe it was a mistake cause now the system doesn't start.. I just get a black screen after the evo boot up, and it sounds like my hard drive is in a loop.

When I originally installed the old xbmc, I had to move the .xbe file to c: and edit the .xml file for settings, I read the install on this one and its a new boot method.  I used the UIX.xbe file and renamed it the firs boot option (evoxdash.xbe) and copid all the files to e:\apps\xbmc like it said.

so thats my problem, after reading a bit, I realized I should probably be trying to use a stable version of xbmc 2.0.1, any recommendations?? or reasons for the black screen.?

Thanks for any help guys!

Man I miss XBMC. Fell in love with it over any other dashboard out there. Imma get back to it cos it does a terrific job of handling media. To some point, XPMC does not have shit on XBMC. Imma get back at her tomorrow when my new chip arrives  smile.gif Mad props out there to everyone that has supported XBMC since the days of XPMC. Long live XBMC!!!   beerchug.gif

I did a clean install of the newest build ov xbmc and the newest build of mc360. now when I try to set the content and scan through imdb it freezes. every time. i have done a bunch of reinstalls. The other internet databases work (the crappy ones). I cant figure this one out. everything else works perfect.  Older versions of xbmc will scan fine. any ideas?

the IMBD site has changed it's look-and-feel... because of this the imdb support doesn't work in all releases since last monday...

Wait untill a new XBMC comes out with support for the 'new' imdb...
