Hi,

I just wanted to confirm what the symptoms are with trying to access shares on VISTA via SMB.

When I try and do this...

I get a dialog box saying "Cannot connect to network server"

Is this what is expected ? I have seen a few people who have posted that they are getting the username/password dialog. I am not getting this.

Hope you can shed some light.

yehhh im getting the same error
running the newest build of vista and a recent build of XBMC
when i try to access the drive it comes up with user/password
i fill it in correctly and it just comes back
ive seen given up with it and gone on to use VLC360 with my 360
works well but i miss my XBMC

I am NOT getting the user/password dialog

I only get a dialog saying "Cannot connect to network server"

Can you briefly explain your vista settings and connection string ?
