...stops me from using the dvd remote.

What i mean is,

I put a DVD in the XBOX to run through XBMC. THe DVD begins and say it brings up a screen like:

* English
* French
* Spanish

And you are supposed to pick which you would like. Well the progress bar that XBMC uses pops up in the top right corner and wont go away. It wont let me pick any of the languages and i cant get out of it.

If i use the controller i can move the little yellow bar back and fourth, but getting out of it i still have problems, and its a real hassle. I have no idea why it's happening but it's bugging the hell out of me...

most likely you have a off-center analog on one of your sticks.

try increasing the <deadzone> setting (see manual.xboxmediacenter.de , advancedsettings.xml page).
