« on: April 12, 2006, 06:53:00 PM »

XboxMediaCenter CVS build of April 12th 2006 compiled by T3CH.
This is a complete snapshot of what is in CVS at the time the build was compiled, with just a few small additions.

Special Note From T3CH:
QUOTE

* Since XBMC is in a FEATUREFREEZE at the moment, I've decided to make more than one BUILD per week.
If you want to report bugs, please do it the PROPER way, see http://manual.xboxme...SubmitBugReport

* Last build was a bit of a failure, cvs isnt always very stable. My apologies! This build should be better.

Here is the FULL changelog since the April 10th 2006 build (last one posted on xbins/xbox-scene):

QUOTE

Install notes from T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE

* DASHBOARD INSTALL
Thanks to a new app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now extremely easy...
Edit XBMC\xboxmediacenter.xml to your liking & transfer contents of XBMC folder TO (this is VERY important) "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<RENAME_ME.xbe>> to something your bios can boot  (see http://manual.xboxme...BMCAsDash#h44-2 or read your BIOS README)  and transfer to your C partition. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore, and future upgrades you won't  need to worry about this file on C.

* APPLICATION INSTALL
Edit XBMC\xboxmediacenter.xml to your liking.
Transfer _whole_ XBMC folder to your APPS folder.

* UPGRADE TIPS
If you're updating from a VERY old/bad build you may get issues. Follow these simple rules:
- Replace (FTP OVERWRITE) all files in your XBMC folder with fresh ones from your new build
- Delete old savegame/settings (from E:/TDATA/0face008)
- In some rare cases some of the database files in XBMC/Albums/*.db may need manual deletion (usually if they are very old). Note: This loses all per file settings you made with the old build!

The XBMC manual is available on The XboxMediaCenter manual has also been updated with information about the trainer feature, check it out on manual.xboxmediacenter.de.
You can add more scripts and skins yourself if desired. You can download them from http://allxboxskins.com, http://www.xbox-skins.net and http://www.xbmcscripts.com.
Keep in mind this is a CVS snapshot of the current development tree. It's not a official (stable) point release. Use only if you know what you are doing.

Great.  The last few builds have had some glaring issues, hopefully all is well in this one till the next point release.

Thanks a lot. I just updated XBMC to your previous build today and found that trainers weren't working. I was hoping you would be doing a new release soon since I didn't want to downgrade. So, thanks for the quick build.

Anyone else having issues trying to read the changelog straight from the SourceForge CVS repository? [http://cvs.sourcefor...txt?view=markup]  Every time I go, the last update it shows is from March 30... Where are you getting this changelog from?

That's funny, I checked XBOX-Scene to see if a new T3CH build was out. It had no listing, so I checked the XBMC FTP and sure enough a new build was out. So I downloaded it and was updating to the new build and sure enough 10 minutes later I checked here and it showed a new build was out on the main page.

But the 2 issues with it not automaticly reading the Games/Emulators/Apps and Trainers is fixed. The only thing I don't like is if you have Kai enabled you can't use trainers.... but I don't see why it couldn't simply tell where the game is being launched from...

Below is what I posted on the XBMC suggestions forum.

I was actually thinking something simple. You can't setup a kai game from under the Games/Emulators/Programs section. The only why to play a kai game is to go into the Kai section, select the game to join, then the 'play' button to launch the game. Why can't XBMC simply tell where the game if being launched from. When you click 'play' under kai, why can't it just disable any trainers for that game then launch it. Then just allow trainers everywhere else, like the Games/Emulators/Program sections. This way you don't have to keep turning kai on and off.

Thanks! This build works great for me.

off-topic question: is there a way to remove the "Xbox Neighboorhood" icon from my desktop?

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the folders within my movies folders aren't showing in the "My Videos" view.  Anyone else getting this?
