I softmodded my xbox a few weeks ago with the stock drive, it has xbmc on it, and works 100% totally fine with the stock drive. All of my music/movies/file smb shares function perfectly.

I used xboxhd and made a bootable image of that 100% working stock drive and put it on a brand new maxtor 200gb drive.

The new drive boots up xbmc totally fine, will play music from a smb share and can browse smb file shares fine.
When I go to play any video that previously worked fine with the stock drive the machine totally freezes.

Also, I have a few programs in e:/apps that will not show up under programs in xbmc on the new hard drive like they used to on the stock drive.

I haven't changed anything, its an exact image of stock onto the upgraded drive.. yet some weird stuff is going on.

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem after replacing the HDD also,

Erase the contents of:
E:\CACHE\
X:\
Y:\
Z:\

and delete the folders:
E:\TDATA\0face008
E:\UDATA\0face008

(effectively deletes all caches)

And try that, It solved it for me.
