Ive been learning a little about adding buttons, icons and stuff to my xbmc, ive managed to add an apps button and a dash button ive also managed to add icons to the four programs ive installed, the only thing really annoying me is the fact that i have 2 icons, exactly the same for the original MS dash. so i can only assume i have it installed twice?

now ive deleted the myprograms cache in xbmc/albums, ive tried removing every repeating instant of c:/xboxdash.xbe in the .xml file but this removes both icons. i am completely baffled as to why

can anyone help please

I have downloaded and printed every tut i can find on icon making and scripting xbmc but i cant find anythign on this

when it adds the dash to your list is it through autoscanning the c drive? if it is, then it may be picking up your modified xboxdash.xbe (if youre using a softmod). other than that then i have no idea! sorry  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

i have no idea what to tell you other than you screwed up your bookmark code.
can you post that chunk of your XML file so we can try and figure it out? also did you try deleting the MyPrograms database file? (found in the albums directory...)

yes i deleted the myprograms from the albums directory, i have a x3 ce chip in a v1.6 xbox.

i cant see what ive screwed up in the bookmark script as all ive done is added this:

And deleted the programs bookmark, didnt see the point of having it if i listed everything in these two bookmarks.

set depth to 1, please, and also ensure that you have the "only use default.xbe" option in My Programs turned on...

if i set the settings to use only default.xbe it doesnt pickup avalaunch nor evox would i be ok to change the xbe files for those two dash's to default.xbe aswell? will they work like this?

that has solved the issue of two icons for ms dash but now ive lost avalaunch and evox, ive tried renaming them default but that doesnt seem to work.

When you set the depth level to 1, you can tell xbmc exactly where to find evox and avalaunch - like below;

<name>Applications</name>
<path>E:\Apps</path>
<depth>2</depth>
</bookmark>
<bookmark>
<name>Dashboards</name>
<path>E:\Dashboards\Avalaunch,E:\Dashboards\Evox,C:\xboxdash.xbe</path>
<depth>2</depth>
</bookmark>


Of course that would only work if that is the folder names that you have your dashboards in.
