Hello all,

Apologies if this wrong area but am really upset! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I made XBMC dash of my Krayzie Softmodded XBOX recently and forgot that i did when i was performing an update today. So keeping in tradition with the way it was when i didn't have it as my dash, i tried to delete the old folder off and replace it with the new build, as i would have did when i had the EvoX (if i recall correctly) as my dash.

But errors occurred when it realised it couldn't delete the files in use as the XBox was on with XBMC as the dash.

I reset the XBOX completely unaware of what i had done and now i'm stuck on the XBOX Boot Screen with no way to FTP into my XBOX.

Any way to reset it? Please tell me there's something i can do.

Boot the XBox with the game you used to softmod it and start the exploit again and you have ftp access again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I would get a copy of something like Slayer's EvoX installation disk and use the FTP function from that. FTP the files over again and you should be good to go. I wouldn't install any files from it though since you have a softmodded box. Make sure, however, that you name the 'Rename Me.xbe" correctly so that the bios recognizes and runs the correct file, and that you place the program files into the correct directory (E:\apps\XBMC). You can find a copy of Slayer's on some Bittorrent sites or in the 'usual place'.

Got a lend of a softmod disc to do it last time and don't have access to it now.. it was Mechwarrior i used. But a mate of mine has an exploit on a Splinter Cell disk. Not sure if it's the same but it should enable me to FTP, right?

Will a DVDR with the Slayer's EvoX on it work? As DVDR's that contain backed up games that used to work now don't. Bearing in mind official games still work but surely an unofficial disk with data on it inserted would just not be recognised and i'd be still stuck at boot screen.

Well, since you used MechAssault, you probably don't have the Splinter Cell exploit gamesave on your Xbox so therefore using Splinter Cell won't work.
