The only way I know to get to the recording control is to start the strea, go to the visualization display, and then hit menu.  Navigate to the red dot and select on it.

Start a file playing.  Press X.  This is the visualization screen.  Press start.  This is the visualization menu.

thaks for the reply. The recording works, but the mp3 file is randomly split into X number of files. For example, i recorded a 3 min long song, and then the mp3 was split into files ranging from 10 sec, to 1 min, all totalling up to 3 min. How wud i be able to fix this?

You could get an audio editing program on your computer and combine them all together as one MP3.
