Iso And Video_ts Files Are Choppy
« on: January 07, 2006, 07:22:00 AM »

Installed new build but have problems with ISO and VIDEO_TS folders.  When I try to play these files the video is extremely choppy and unwatchable.  I tried to go back to my previous version and the same thing happens.  I went to my xbox in my bedroom and tried the same files and everything still works fine with the older build, so I know it's not a network issue.  I have tried to clear the Cache folders, delete the .db files under albums.  What else can I do to get my DVD's images to play smoothly?  I am convinced that there is a file setting somewhere that I am missing.  Keep up the great work, it is much appreciated.

Forgot to add that all other file formats play fine; avi, xvid, etc.

Try adjusting your cache setting. goto: -->  Settings --> System --> Cache

I forget if its adjusting the cache higher or lower to fix the problem. Try lowering first to see if any improvements come about, then higher. I also forgot what specific cache to adjust, so you may want to experiment.

Tried adjusting all of them up and down, separtely, together, and just about every combination in between.  Still no go for ISO or VIDEO_TS files.  I noticed that someone else posted the same problem.  Is there another file the xbmc is storing somewhere that I can delete? I have done a clean install of an older version, yet still have the problem left over from the new build.

This is a known bug.  See this thread:

http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de/cgi-bin/foru...=1;&#entry95965

It would be helpful if you would read darkies post in that thread requesting some info on this problem and maybe help get it fixed.
