HD 4:3 on the other hand is something I cannot test, I am not sure of the situation, I will have to speak to Jezz_X about it, or maybe he can ever comment here what the issue is with that.

Its not possible xbmc just dosn't support hidef 4x3 the best you can do is just not uplaod the 16x9 directory contents to force xbmc to use all the image sizes aspects in the 4x3 dir as the fall back

Infact that should work really well

Sorry that leaked.
I got a Totem Pole for Christmas so... well, yeah... sorry about that. I think I had a little too much fun.

I'm really excited. Would this mean that there will be frequent updates to keep up with changes on the 2.1 skin engine on XBMC SVN? or will this be handled when MC360 is on the XBMC Skinning Project SVN?

Are any textures getting renamed making themes not work properly?

Yes, changes will have to be made when 1.0 comes out. things have changed. But the XPR's will be unprotected so you can look at everything anyway.

What if you made the xbox think it was in wide screen(720p), and make like some black bars off to the sides to compensate for the loss of the "wideness"

Sorry for the crude drawing. Let the red dotted lines represent what the tv is actually showing, and the black bars are what the xbox is displaying.

HAHA

Anyway Jezz said you could just get rid of the PAL16x9 folder to force the skin to use the PAL folder which would in turn give you 4x3 in HD.

The xbox is actually displaying widescreen, but the way the idea is, it has black bars, on the sides, much like what you get playing fullscreen dvd's on a widescreen. So when it displays itself on a fullscreen tv it will be bunched up as normal, BUT you can use the calibration feature to make all the black bars stretch outside of what the tv is actually displaying.

Still lost? Lets say if you put this to use on a widescreen, it would show up like the picture I provided.

Not lost its just impossible for a skin to do that
you can set the UI to 720p and then video playing to 4x3 480p but thats about the best you will ever get because and I put this in bold
XBMC has ZERO support for 4x3 in 720p and 1080i
if you don't like that take it up in the xbmc section because there is nothing we can do about it

Ok, thank you. Now I understand.

For anyone interested, It looks nice when you use the MC360.TTF font if you are 720p/4:3  wink.gif
