Topic: Can We Upgrade Xbmc To T3ch 3/7/06? (Read 360 times)

t3ch have just released this weeks update ... XBMC-CVS_2006-07-03-T3CH.rar

Is it safe to update to this while running the current release of MC360 or should I wait for the next release of MC360 before upgrading?

I'd wait if I were you. The previous t3ch release had problems with the current MC360 release and given that hasn't been fixed yet in an official MC360 release then I'd expect the latest t3ch release to also have the same problem and possibly others.

I wouldn't small bug in xbmc code that makes huge huge bug in skin

jmarshall has fixed it in the cvs for us and the next t3ch release but it will still have the same issues as the last build (all blue) as well as the new huge ones until we manage to put out a new skin version. But each t3ch build keeps giving us major new bugs in our skin

So no dont upgrade

Why is that? Isn't XBMC supposed to be in feature freeze at the moment so they should only be addressing bugs? Now I know that fixing bugs can introduce others but the number of new ones seems rather high.

Well it kind of is but they are also changeing the way things work under the hood to make it faster and what not but its causeing a few bugs with it

The reason there has been no MC360 update for a couple of weeks is because XBMC is going through many changes atm. We planned to release our skin right after this T3CH was released, but now its not compatible anymore, there are some major problems that we need fixing and part of that was a fix to the CVS, which means if we release our skin now, it wont work for any of you.

Its a pain in the ass I know but just wait guys, be patient and you will all be happy.

Which were the last stable XBMC & MC360 releases anyways?

My organizational skills seem to have gone down the crapper and i cant rember which skin goes with which t3ch build... it doesnt help that everythings crammed into one folder

i think it's the 6-18 TECH build, and the mc360 download from bb's site..... i think.....

Yep. The most stable build is 18th June T3CH & the 21st June MC360 off our site.

So will their be a release from you guys with MC360 already installed when its ready to be released again, like the 6-6-6 build? Or will we have to installit seperatly?
