I would just like to say that I use this forum to get the info I need when I have
a problem do I help others not really I have a few people that pm me for help and I help them its not that I would not help but there is a lot more informed people on here than me so to get to my point I hang out 99% of the time in the b/s/t  and I enjoy it for the most part lately there has been a lot of members new and surprisingly  older that just cant follow the simple rules and I know from reading all the admin and mods post that they are about to shut it down , well one problem I see is there is just to many people using it and not enough moderating (is that a word) Oswald is doing a kick ass job just look at the hate treads (Oswald is a fag) tells me he is doing a fine job I think he needs more help .maybe find 1 or 2 more people to help him out im sure there are a few that would have no problem in lending a hand ,maybe jr mods or something I don’t know I just like the b/s/t  and would hate to see it go  sorry for the rant (just drank a 8 pack of this new energy beer damn a buzz and wired at the same time) lol

Things get out of hand for example when certain members get a thread closed, which is closed because of infringment of the b/s/t rules but they feel that they are in the right. So they persist in agruing, complaining and starting threads (hate threads or spam). This puts more 'job load' onto the X-S staff to keep the trouble makers in order.
I know people who basically live in the B/S/T section trading, selling and what not, these people are not the problem. I think the problems lie in newer members (not all) who fail to read the rule properly and continue making multiple threads each week increasing the job load on Oswold and the others.
I don't think the B/S/t should go, I think there needs to be another solution to policing it. <

I agree with TGZ, the B/S/T is one of the best (if not only) resource for buying and selling parts of xbox too small to be listed on ebay (for example controller buttons or screws etc.)

Whilst I can completely understand the problems it has caused for the site, I think that for the majority of the users who arent here to spam and rip people off, it would be a shame to close it down.

Just because of the actions of a few idiots are we going to give in and close the section for everyone?

that sounds quite promising - as you said Oswald is doing as best as he can but we have got to accept that he cant police the section 24/7. <

What hurts it too is people set off flame wars trying to be the police calling people names and crap instead of using the report button and letting it take care of itself. When people get all bitchy and turn into girl thingies over issues instead of letting mods do their job (regardless of if I think they do it well or not).

If you leave well enough alone the shit will settle to the bottom if people quit bringing it to the top. <

A big problem.. is that many who are interested in that forums... are also some of the ones who are complained about the most.

BST, despite the efforts.. is still the unlawful wild wild west.

Far too many crooks, and theives, and scam artists.

.. and the lines are blurring.. as "honest" sellers, "snitch" on their competition to have them removed.. with little or no proof.

Overall .. BST is pretty slimy.. yah.. there are some who are honest.. but it's apparent that those ones are outnumbered by those who use bst for no good whatsoever.

take today for example..

56 individuals.. complained that they were ripped off by another member. (almost half wanted XS to "pay" for this rippoff. (since as far as they were concerned XS was either in on it.. or contributed by having an open forum.)

To those people.. Alowing me to say "Fuck You" and go and read the rules.

That's more people complaining.. then I think there was new threads. (in bst)

BST doesnt need more moderation.. or more rules.. we need less dishonest people in bst. (Buyers and Sellers) And no ammount of moderation is going to remove all the scam artists in there.

More than once in the past I've used my own funds to catch people.. like I did over a year ago with the eeprom scammers. I'm not willing to do that all the time though. Nor should I.

Caveat Emptor. <

I agree totally..people should definately look into the users who are new even not new to check all their feedback and make shure they are safe. Its their fault if they get scammed sometimes, sometimes its not their fault, maybe a well known person just could lose it and just scam the $hit out of people

Oh and why would people want you to pay for mistakes you cant take responsibility for...Anways who was that "scammer"?I havent heard about him yet.

I have a Complaint to voice.

I agree that the Mods are doing a good job in the BST.

I am also aware of the scammer as I have been Scammed a few times.  I wish i could get the Fu**ers in front of me I would love to go off on them face to face.

I am an Avid BST person.  I am 100% honest and Have always been, I don't have ONE Complaint from any of my users and have Done over 100+ Transations from the BST.

My one Complaint is the Stoping of NON XBOX RELATED MATERIAL, I understand there is a Craigslist and EBay, but here is my complaint.  Craigslist is only from Local area, IT don't reach a mass audience without loging out of your area and clicking into another area.  SO that makes Craigslist Useless to me.  As for ebay.. well some of us are banned from ebay.  I personally am banned from ebay cause everytime i try selling something that is Modded (and im not even talking about a chip) I get my auction Killed then eventually get banned.  I've listed modded Xbox's with just lights and different jewels and had my auction killed.  I've had to re-regester 3 times AND eventually I get caught and get banned.  I am Banned for life and im running out of credit cards and address to re-regester so im done with Ebay.  I do a ton of business with selling Chips, Systems (all), PC gear and other personal stuff.  XBS BST has been a great outlet for me to sell.  I have established myself and Everyone knows or can easly ask if I am legit and also check my past post's and see all the positive feedback users have left for me.  Even if something arrived broken, I have taken care of it and taken care of my buyers.   Not having a place to post my PSP's, my PC parts and other stuff... I have no more outlet WITH AN ESTABLSHED identity to sell.

I agree there should not be BST with NON xbox stuff - if thats all the post consist of.  But if a BST is mostly Xbox stuff and has a PSP some PC parts ECt.. in it ... IT SHOULD BE ALLOWED.   Users that Post Threads that Have NO XBOX RELEVENCE aT all should have their Post's Closed.  But People like ME, BOng420, Markland556, Explosive2, and Tons of others That list a NON XBOX item here and there should not have our post Closed.   People come to the BST for Xbox stuff, but maybe they need a new DVD burner, PC, or perhaps they want that PSP and while shoping the BST for a XBOX they see the same user has a PS2 or PSP or GC or something for sale too and says HEY I NEED THAT TOO!

Last complaint.  I had a post that was created before the new rules were pinned.  It was said that all psot would be allowed if they were created before the new rules.  Now MY thread was created April 5th.  It only had a Few PC parts and a PSP listed.  Not 75 post later, lots of feedback and still a ton of Xbox stuff listed in it, i get it closed cause of the old NON XBOX STUFF rule.  THe Stuff listed is over 25 days old..   IT shows a Established Thread that is still going and IT was CLosed.   That's just Wrong in my opinion.

I would love to be a MOD in the BST area.  I go through a ton of threads each day.  I spot alot of Craping in threads (which is wrong and deters buyers cause they want what they want in terms of price and cheap skates crap the thread), I notice patterns in scammers.  I even spoted a few threads that look like they could be repeated users that are tring to get back in to Scam others.  I would research those Suspicious Post's and weed out people like KDOGG, XBOXINC (sith) and DJB and others.  I also would close out Post from people that create way too many, or just type BUMP more than 2 times a day.  I have no problem with people who Give real updates to their Thread once or twice a day, but those who just go BUMP, ^, UP, Ect... More than 2 time sin 24 hrs should be Closed too.  I also have alot of information of Scammers, Address, Phone numbers, Ect... I could help out users who get hit by a scammer that is repeat offender.

I'll admit, I've been scammed on Xbox scene, I've been non-cautious in certain situations and done some dumb things and deserve to loose to the scammer cause I wasn't careful or didn;t follow my own rules cause i really wanted something.  I've learned One thing, if the deal is too good to be true it usually is.. Its most likely a SCAMMER.  I've learned from my mistakes and haven't been scammed in over 6 months now, though even being carful you still can get scammmed.

I've been active since 2002.  I've been a Contributer to the Mod Forums.   Helped PAlmore with mods and made a impact on the mod scene a little.  YES I've been mented in news stories on Xbox scene when it comes to updates and advances in mod projects.  I've contributed to a few projects in minor ways.  I've been active in my own mods.  I've been a help on IRC to newbies and I offer advice when i come across a thread that ask for help that can be solved in a few lines of text.  I have also been a Excelent BSTer.

Hear my complaints and lets reconsider the new rules, you hurt sellers that are honest and don't have much other choice in places to sell GREY LINE ITEMS like modchips and stuff.

You wrote a well written and detailed post.. however.. all of your comments and issues were considered before we moved to the new rules.

A of now.. MAY.. all the old threads.. I don't care how long.. with non xbox stuff.. are now considered closed. The fact you had an older and stillactive thread.. was irrelevant. I had given instruction on what threads were to be closed immeditely.. and which were to be closed as the calendar turned over to May.

Staff will be closing any left open.. so make new ones that reflect the new rules people.

I'll also be completely honest.. and say XS is not here to help the rank and file members make money via our site.

So it bears mentioning.. again.. people wanting a better.. more robust BST service.. do need to look elsewhere. There are many, and all are better.

I'm also not a fan of people asking to be a mod..

Further complaints regarding the new rules for BST will be closed. The new rules in place.. will remain so for SIX MONTHS as stated previously. At that time.. I'll consider altering the rules. However.. even that is doubtful.. as discussions with staff have shown we've already accomplished our goals by making the changes we did. (which means we are happy with it.) <
