dvd2xbox v0.7.5-- Posted by XanTium on April 12 13:28 EST
WiSo released a new version of dvd2xbox(info).
What's new/fixed:
* beta: added iso ripper to dvd2xbox. Please note that the raw ripping highly depends on the reading capabilities of your DVD drive. Couldn't test it due to missing softmodded box. Any reports are appreciated (http://forum.ws0.org/viewforum.php?f=9)
* fixed: added a workaround to avoid screen flashing when switching context
* fixed: limitation of 1024 files and directories in the file manager
* fixed: remap of d: to the dvd drive when started and no disc is inserted
* added: quick scan when starting the game manager
* added: some simple gui sounds
* changed: reboot from main menu does a soft reset now
* changed: text scroller has now pixel based movement
* skinning: added item defaultmenuback for default menu background images
* skinning: added item activexbeicon to show the game save image of the highlighted game
* skinning: added variable mbpersecond to display the average transfer rate in MB/s
* updated PM3 skin (thanks to Jezz_X)

I updated to this from an older version. When I start the new version it freezes my xbox up right away. Are there any other files I should be deleting to make this run properly?

Did you delete the old file from your saved games?

I dunno why this happens for some people since dvd2xbox should update it's settings automatically.
Try this one: http://wiki.ws0.org/...faq&v=ry5#h66-4

I deleted the UDATA and TDATA entries as specified in the link. It worked like a charm. Thanks for the help!

Finally you can make 1:1 backups, keeping every original optimization smile.gif

But, there“s a problem, the layer split point is not output in DL games, so DL games would lose any layer switch optimization.
The layer split point is neccesary in order to be able of burning exact DL backups by giving DVDDecrypter or ImgBurn the lastest sector number in L0.

Thanks for the update WiSo. Does the ISO ripper work much like that (xdk?) ripper people are using to backup TOCA 3? If so this would work to backup TOCA 3..?

First off ... AWSOME ISO Ripper to SAMBA share !!!! Dude I love you.

# 2 please help me get this working smile.gif

I set my xml file like with my network configs like this:

      <workgroup>HOMEPC</workgroup>
      <winsserver>192.168.1.160</winsserver>

      <shares>
         <share>
            <name>Home PC Movies</name>
            <url>smb://HOMEPC;xbox:xbox@PC/movies/</url>
         </share>

      </shares>
   </smb>

When I go into this app it says Network OK .... but when I go to Copy to Samba share - It just spits out my DVD?  Any ideas?

caddie you got the shares set up wrong in this line
<url>smb://HOMEPC;xbox:xbox@PC/movies/</url>
you don't need the PC name in it
somthing like this would be better
CODE
HOMEPC
192.168.1.160

    Home PC Movies
    smb://xbox:xbox@PC/movies/

Also to save you wasteign time testing it on ripping go into the filemanager and bring up the drive menu the network shares are listed there and it will tell you if it can connect to them easier than trying to rip to it

Also I take it you have a user account on your PC called Xbox with the password of xbox on it and it has access to those shares

JezzX  - thank you for the reply....
I have an account on my pc for: xbox:xbox
On this computer the workgroup name is: HOMEPC
and the computer name is: pc
the IP is: 192.168.1.160

I have /movies/  shared out via this method for regular XMBC....  how do I set this up to put backup.iso files to this directory.

I tried altering the .xml to what you have above and it did the same ... spit out the dvd and that was it.

I appreciate your help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks, Chris

@Joshua: Yes. I implemented the iso ripper sources from nkpatcher which is used to make a backup from TOCA3.

@caddie: let winsserver empty (dash "-") and put the destionation IP in the url. Make sure the path you edit there is a share name. Make sure that the user has full read and write access on this directory.

The iso will only run from a dashboard on a softmodded box. But I'm also curious if this works. Softmodders please test  smile.gif
