2006 SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards - We won!
Thanks to you - our users, XBMC won Best Multimedia and also Best Game(!) category.
Prize: 'bragging rights' and the logo on our projectpage.

And while I have your attention, we are in need of assistance to get our Wiki Manual "up to speed" for the upcoming 2.0.0 release. Loto is attempting a rewrite, but he is in need of assistance. Documenting XBMC is simply too much for 1 individual to handle, see discussion

Also don't forget, we will not be including outdated translations with 2.0.0, so if your language isn't uptodate, please make an effort to update your language!

As you can see above, XboxMediaCenter(info) won in both the Multimedia and Game category ... but there's another Xbox project among the winners.
In the Hardware category the 1st place goes to the Xbox-Linux Project.
Great to see Xbox homebrew projects winning against some big-name PC opensource projects. Thanks goes to all our visitors who voted for these 2 great projects when we reported about the SF.net awards last month.
You can find the full results on sourceforge.net

I think the title needs a correction, should say either 1st Place or 1st Prize, but it says 1st Price for some reason. Anyway, congrats to XBMC and the xbox linux project.

It is amazing to me just how good XBMC is. It is better than anything I've seen on the PC and Mac as a media jukebox, it is easy to understnad and the interface is great. That is missing in so much software. I think also that XBMC spoiled a lot of us - the 360 media center pales in comparrison.

When free software outshines commercial offerings, everybody wins. I am constantly stunned when I see the quality of stuff soming out for the Xbox.

Congratulations guys, thanks for your work!

It seems weird to me that XMBC won the 1st prize in the game category, because it's not a game at all.
But congrats anyway. At least you deserved the multimedia prize.

Man, this is great news, and congratulations.  We're ALL behind you!
Second of all, SOMETHING needs to change.  Not with the XBMC team, they simply do a fantastic job.  What needs to change is that there is no way to legally acquire XBMC, unless you download the source and have an XDK (which few legally have).  One of the best programs on the net and the average person can't legally download and run it without breaking the law.
Something needs to change.
