Hi All,
I'm hoping to clear some things up.
I wanted to start making my own ACL files, as well as use some existing ones to help free up some space on my HD.
I noticed a few things during my trials.
I'm using DVD2XBOX 0.7.4, and I have ACL processing enabled, and ACL RM/MV/EP also.
I also enabled blank video files.
I sort of did an "audit" of my HDD, processing ACLs on the folders - it removed the files as per the ACL, however it did not replace any videos with blanks. One thing I noticed during this is that some of the ACL files I downloaded use wildcards " * " to specify which files shouldn't be included or removed, but they don't seem to get processed. I think it's the way the files are, because if i make my own and use for example
RM|${DEST}\garbage\*.*| it will remove all files in that directory, but something like
RM|${DEST}\garbage\*_jpn.xmv| will not remove those files.
Anyway, I got sidetracked.
I backed up Ghost Recon 2 without any sort of ACL processing or blank files - then i tried to process the ACL on the folder on the HDD. It appropriately removed the files in the ACL, but the videos were not replaced with blanked files.
I started again, but this time enabled ACL processing and blank video files during the backup. The ACL did it's job, but DVD2XBOX replaced ALL of the video files with blanks.
Processing ACLs after the fact cleans things up nicely, but I was hoping that the "blank video files" option in DVD2XBOX would only blank the ones listed in the ACL, which would be a nice feature.
I guess after all this, what I'm asking is: is possible to be able to have the "enable blank video" feature work together with ACL files.
Blank videos could be turned off to process ACLs that will simply remove unneeded files, but enabled to put in blanks for the games that need them and can't simply have the file removed.
Right now it seems like all or nothing. Being able to add blanks by ACL would rock.
