Just Messing Around W/ My Xbox, Guess What I Found Out!
« on: January 29, 2006, 05:04:00 PM »

So I was bored and messing around with my Xbox, and popped a ps2 game in the drive.  Then I ran DVD2Xbox, and I found out that you can rip PS2 games to your Hard drive on your Xbox!  I mean... you can't PLAY them, but the Xbox actually recognized the game and ripped it.  Idk, I thought it was pretty neat

You can pull a great prank on people at school/work by saying "My xbox can play PS2 games, can your's?"   laugh.gif

yeah you can't run it, evox doesn't recognize it.  i tried editing evox.ini to see what it would do for the ps2 executable, but it just boots to the Xbox dash and says that it can't be recognized

is it rippin as .iso or as plain files? if it were plain files, i doubt it will work on a real ps2. some/most ps2 games have lba checks. so the file structure thats injected onto the iso needs to be preserved in order to get it to boot right.

This is nothing suprising.  There are no fancy filesystems or other protections on PS2 discs.  It's a media check.
