What I'm Doing Wrong Updating Eeprom?

For some reason when I finish updating th EEPROM and lock the HD I get the 06 error after rebooting.  I'm using the krazy V1.0 softmod.

I put the new EEPROM in the data folder in the configmagic section.  I unlock the HD, load the EEPROM from bin, update the EEPROM, load EEPROM from xbox, and lock the hd.  It work for me before but now I get this 06 error like 4 time in a row!!!  I'm getting tried of this please help.

Sorry to double post but I figure something out.  This is what the problem is, first when I update the eeprom with configmagic the HD lock key is change to a new one but when you lock the hd to complete the process configmagic use the OLD key.  Your eeprom has the new key but your hd is lock with the old key and when you reboot you get the 06 error.  

I use xboxhdm_v1.9 to unlock the HD with the old key than lock it with the new key and problem solve.  I just want to know if this is normal with configmagic or the Krazy softmod is causing this?

You shouldnt ever need to touch the EEPROM. And an EEPROM never needs "Updating". Never ever touch your EEPROM especially if you dont know what your doing.

What are you talking about?  I upgraded to a larger HD so if I want to use Live I need to chage my eeprom unless you know something everybody here don't know.

the problem is probably you are editing the virtual eeprom and the real eeprom stays the same. to prevent this you could boot a bios loader out of apps and direct that to the dash. then the virtual eeprom is inactive and you can change the real eeprom. you still need to be carefull though

      Does virtual eeprom gets created every time you reboot or does it actually have a file somewhere that can be edited?  If I run a backup eeprom on configmagic that should be the true eeprom info right?

Would it be too much to ask if you can make a tutorial on how to change eeprom for Live if you are using Krayzie 1.0?  I think many would find it very helpful.  Thanks for making a great softmod installer.

I am having a problem to with eeprom.

Softmoded xbox with hotswap
shadowimage
evoX as launcher

i boot into ConfigMagic, load xbox eeprom, unlock, changing the values(odit on the fly) updating eeprom -> load the xbox eeprom = old values, seems the confmagic can`t edit eeprom file.

And when i lounch MS dashboard and change settings like widescreen and reboot, i have old settings back.

ripping apart google and forums

sems like i can`t change eeprom in any way
