The new version of Mimesis(info) has been released:


It's done! I put the finishing touches on it tonight, despite a very problematic debug box. I hope that everyone enjoys the latest and greatest from Project Mimesis.

Feature list:
Download & install homebrew downloadable content (DLC)
Auto-Save the Mimesis Content Packages (MCP)
Disable/Enable installed DLC
Backup/Restore Auto Update's (AU)
Install new AU
and do all of this for the multiple games that Mimesis now has built in support for! Its not just for Halo2 anymore.

It downloads the maps as DLC (so the maps run off the harddrive, like the maps from XBL).

Pretty cool that it supports more than one game, but it was supposed to support more.  Either way, more will be supported over time.

I don't think they can "fix" that exactly. The new Auto-Update doesn't allow new maps to be added to Halo 2, and to patch that would cause problems on LIVE.

However, Mimesis 2 does allow you to backup your new Auto update, load the old one, and when you need to, restore the original new update to play on LIVE.

Ya i figured, i dont care about backing it up, i have seperate drive for live anyway, its getting the version i need that is the problem. I dont want to spend money to buy the map disk just for the au, and i dont know where else i chould get it. all of my local friends dont have it.

Respect for a great program, does it only support rainbow six and halo 2? Thats what comes up for me. I suppose it depends what is installed on the xbox?

Also, and this is nothing to do with the program but what is it with halo 2 and user made maps? are they all just remakes of existing maps with new textures? does anyone make original maps?

I'm really surprised there are not more maps for Halo 2, for a game that popular why haven't bungie release more maps than the ones released recently?

I believe the program freezes at "downloading  game preview image: rainbow six: black arrow. (I say "I believe" since maybey it has to load 30 minutes

I are currently working on support for more games such as Star Wars:  KotOR (which is already done, some packages just need to be publishd), Ghost Recon (as many games from the series as possible), Project Gotham Racing 2, more games from the Rainbow Six series, and a few others.  I not not part of the team so please don't ask me "how to..." or "what is...".

works fine for me, try redownloading the program or something.

I need the 1.1 patch how do i get it?? And also when i load my halo2 disk and go on my account then it says content download is broken and is not usable no more.
