Basically, I have a modded X-Box with an Enigmah chip. It had evox installed along with config magic.

I originally wanted to change the region settings on my X-Box. I started config magic. I unlocked my hard drive. Then I believe I pressed the back-up hard drive buttons as well, but I'm not sure what the prog actually did. then I tried to edit the region info. Midway I changed my mind about changing the region and thought that if I quit the program without updating no changes would take effect.

Now when I boot up my xbox I get a message telling me "Your x-box requires service. Please call customer support." There is also a 05 in the upper left hand corner. I assume this is an error 05 message. I tried to use an old version of slayers auto installer to format hard drive, but it hasn't worked.

Not sure what to do, help would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention, there is a flashing red and green light around the eject button. I also forgot to mention I didn't lock the hard drive when I was finished.

if your eeprom.bin is somewhere backup'd onto our compter head over to usual places and get a locking program... if you confused look in tuts. XboxHDM might help too!

The eeprom.bin is backed up on the x-box I think. Is tuts. XboxHDM a locking program?

Nevermind, I found it.

I have  XboxHDM  version 1.9.1, but I'm not exactly sure how to use it.

I burnt the linux disc. If I read the instructions correctly, I am supposed to remove the hard drive, connect it to my pc, and run the tool?

Also, I should mention I don't seem to have ftp access. I tried, but I can't connect to the x-box. Don't know if it changed the ftp addy.

I read that error 5 means "kernel - HDD not locked (retail bioses require the hd to be locked)".  If I remove the hard drive and connect it to the PC all I need to do is lock the hard drive to get it to work? Are you sure the problem has to do with the eeprom.bin .

How? Did you have to do it with the traditional way of removing it from the xbox and locking it back again?

Or by doing it without removing the hd from the xbox?

I did it the traditional way. I opened the xbox, took out the hard drive, opened my pc, unplugged the pc hd and plugged in the xbox hd to the pc, booted the xboxhdm disc I made, and locked the hard drive.

This means that you had the eeprom.bin file.... right?

Yeap, it turned out that about a year ago I made a back-up of my x-box c drive. It turned out that on the disc was a copy of the eeprom.bin. I think there was another copy of the eeprom.bin on my X-Box, but I didn't know how to access it.
