that wont work for v1.6 users... yet
I don't know about xDSL, but Gentoo runs wonderfully on my 1.6. (Not Gentoox, stock Gentoo using the new (experimental) xbox build profile.)
Edit: Diz, have you managed to get X working yet? (I'm not too familiar with xDSL, being a rather large Gentoo fan and a VERY long-time Linux user, I don't usually go for the easy-to-install Linux distros.)
BTW, to the person who linked to xpdf - Keep in mind that LONG before the Xbox existed (On the order of two decades), the primary method of providing a graphical user interface on Unix systems was called the X Windowing System. Thus, many graphical programs for Unix/Linux-based systems have an "x" prefix. (Nowadays, you'll see a lot of "g" and "k" prefixes for programs that run under the GNOME and KDE desktop environments which are layered over X. "g" is also used as the prefix for a lot of programs that are associated with the GNU software project.)
