Keeping Their Sanity....
« on: December 13, 2004, 11:40:00 PM »

I need whatever medication, or drink that the moderators, admins and helpful people of this site take.  When first coming onto the scene early this year I had every intent on trying to help where I could and when I could, even with my limited knowledge.  But after I week of just trolling through forums and such my head almost exploded  muhaha.gif

I had to completely stop reading the newby forum as almost every post could be answered by spending a little bit of time searching, reading, giving even minimal effort.  I have since done a few mods and such and am becoming the mod guru in my neck of the woods.  Which isn't saying much, it just means I spend alot of time on Xbox-scene reading and checking things out.  And I try to spend some time sharing my experiences and help those in need but..........

NO ONE WANTS TO WORK AT SOLVING THEIR OWN PROBLEMS.

To deal with this day in and day out would push me so far over the edge that the edge would be a damn dot.  Seriously, people need to STFU and quit their bitching about every damn thing that doesn't go right.  I love reading how people searched endlessly for hours and couldn't find an answer to a question that is in the n00b guide to everything.  To those people I have no patients for dealing with it.

Alright I'll quit my ranting.... for now.  But the main reason for this post was to give thanks to the tireless and obviously insane  wink.gif  moderators, admins and helpful people of this site, without you there'd be thousand of morons lined up at my door.

Cheers

I think most people here would agree with you, people making new topics here to ask unbelievably stupid things, like:

QUOTE
does my replacement xbox jewel need to be the same version as the motherboard?

and

QUOTE
will the metal shielding  'work' in a different case?

Unfortunately, these types of questions are something that is part of XS, and once you see them in the right way, they will become less of a problem, and something to laugh about. You have to encounter these people every day in life, just here on XS we seen to attract alot of them. In the real world we call them dumbasses, on XS, they are n00bs.

It would probably be alot better if we all just ignored stupid posts, helped out people with real problems and in turn we would be helping the stupid people, because they would be forced to search to find the answers they are looking for.
Only problem is we have people here who jump on every new topic posted just to get their post count up.

So next time people, if you are reading this, if you see a dumb question, ignore it. Flaming doesnt help anyone, and the if whatever the dumb persons problem is, they will eventually give in and do what the rest of us do (search).
