Ok so ive got a TON of songs (about 1500) and im having issues getting stpemania to work with them all, id idnt have any problems when i had about 700 or so but now im having all kinds of issues.

I started by dumping everythign into my songs folder in stepmania on my
xbox. That took forver to load all the songs which was expected but it
crashes a lot when it's loading all the songs. And once it finally
gets through all that about 8 restarts later and i go to actually play
the songs and then it crashes.

So, next idea was to split them into 2 folders, empty the cache and
let it load like just the new stuff. that worked to an extent and at
that point i also notced that all the same songs make it crash. So i
deleted those, emptied the cache again, reloaded and it was goign
good. untill i started playing. After every song, when it kicks back
to the song list it chashes and sends me back to the dash. So though
it loads the songs and i can play i really dont like having to reboot
after everysong

Oh, i also turned off the banner loading and that helped, becasue when
i had it load the banners with the new songs it crashed too.

ran into the same problem with those same songs crashing stepmaniax found thread where someone mentioned that the images are sometimes buggered and/or there are more than one sm file in the song folder.

now after eliminating the dual sm files i found i had to edit some banners and background and resave em as jpg or png then deleted the original file found that now those songs that used to crash now load with banners and all

edit: should add u could just delete all the image files and just keep the step files and song, makes for a pretty bland stepmania screen tho

Just keep your best 200 songs or so, 1500 would be insane to load into 64mb of memory.
