Auto-installer Deluxe V1.0
« on: December 11, 2004, 03:10:00 PM »

Hi ppl.

I'd like to announce XS Filter - Links to Xbox Warez and Torrents **'s latest development, "Auto-Installer Deluxe v1.0"

I have been working on this for around the last 3 months, and now that it's finally complete (just waiting on one last bit that I should get in a couple of hours) I thought that I would pass on the information about it:

What is it?

It's the BIGGEST software-packed auto-installer I've ever seen, consisting of 61 different pieces of xbox software, ranging from dashboards to emulators.

More information can be viewed here: http://xbox-hq.com/html/postt2490.html

Who is it for?

It's for everyone and anyone. You can quite simply just set up your xbox, or you can customise it with various tools such as PBL Metoo and XSelect. So it's great for both the Novice and Advanced Xbox user.

How can I get it?

The main distribution point will be Bit Torrent, since the final RAR file will end up being around 500mb. Hopefully you will be able to get the torrent file from "the usual place" once it is complete and ready to go, as far as I know it shouldn't be a problem for "the usual place" to host the torrent file.

Here's a little screenshot to tempt you some more, credit goes to Jezz for originally designing this skin btw.

So, hopefully in around 24 hours or so this should be ready to leech.

I hope you will all enjoy this when it's released.

Cheers!!

amazing job!
very full featured installer
very clean interface and easy to use
very up to date

It is obvious a LOT of time was put into this and I just want to thank everyone who made this possible.

These are the kind of releases that make the scene.

Now there are only three things ANY modder needs:

1) ltools / waffletools
2) xboxhdm
3) Auto-Installer Deluxe 1.0

Only one suggestion - give it a better name...although the current name is fine i think its the only thing that can be improved upon.

micr0c0sm,

Thanks for you kind comments smile.gif

Naming the tool was the hardest thing, my first attempt would have been to have "X" and then something, like X-Builder or something like that. But everytime I'd think of a name, I'd do a google search and it already exsisted.

Around about 3 months of work went into this tool, and about an extra 20 apps or emulators were added. The base of this tool was my XS Filter - Links to Xbox Warez and Torrents ** EvoX Auto-Installer v1.3 which I released in August (around a week before Slayer's 2.6). My most fun part (without being sarcastic) was learning how to use UnleashX. I tried to use MXM before but since I couldn't get it to install stuff off CD properly I switched. Then, about a week ago we were all blessed with the new UnleashX version, which basically made the new auto-installer complete.

If you have a quick look through the changelog (if you haven't already) you'll see the amount of work that's went in it, hehehe.

Anyways, like I said thank you for the kind words. If anyone else wishes to leave a little praise please do so, as I truly believe I've made a winner here...

Believe me anyone who sees this will immediately know how ... polished it is. I'm contemplating spamming the UXE Exploit & Nub forums, but thats not a good idea.

This should be perma linked in some sort of tutorial post. Maybe a noob post or general tools?

I think I will compile a quick guide to the best of the best on the scene, and trust that this will be featured.

Good luck on your future endeavors.

For an auto installer its the sweetest thing i have ever seen. But i have to rebuild it because unleashx is standard set to NTSC and i use only PAL xboxxes so the startup dash becomes blurry.

<AutoVideoMode MultiRegion="PAL" UsePAL60="No">Yes</AutoVideoMode>
         <VideoSettings Widescreen="No" UsePAL60="No" FilterLevel="0"></VideoSettings>

To change settings for the AI you'll need to use the program called Recreate which came with the RAR file you obtained, or alternatively you can use your favourite xISO tool.

1) Firstly extract the ISO

2) Change the config files. This is where ALL the unleashX config files are:

/config.xml  (Auto-Installer config)
/config/dash/unleash/e.zip (UnleashX Dash Config for Retail HDDs)
/config/dash/unleash/f.zip (UnleashX Dash Config for Large HDDs)
/config/dash/unleash/g.zip (UnleashX Dash Config for Larger HDDs)

BTW, the above ZIP files are just standard WinZIP files, so you can remake them if you wish.

3) Rebuild the ISO

4) Burn

I hope that helps..

No, don't go spamming no-one smile.gif

The softmod stuff is basically a test for people that wish to attempt modding a Xbox HDD then putting it in a non modded xbox.

Well thnx. is it possible to remove or replace the beginning movie. I would like to see the credits at the end and not on startup. I have to test some more on different media because on my samsung and checp dvd-r it started kinda slow. Maybe im gonna recreate it without sound for improvingspeed.
Maybe its nice if you put a dir structore up and behind that a comment for what it does en why its for etc. so people can esy update this disc themselves.

yup you can easily remove the movie. actually we've noticed it doesn't work when an unformatted drive is in the xbox (it was the programmer's first attempt so I'm not mad at him for it0.

A tutorial on how to fix it can be found in this post here:

Nice thankyou !
I just extract it with a program like QWIX.. make changes ans rebuild the iso again.
Also im viewing your file structure now. Just want to give a compliment for your work.
For know first coffee and then lets head out to the AID forum for some more reading.
Nice tip to rename the install.xbe to default.xbe.
I also get a black screen when booting it from cdrw, but my cdrw is pretty old could be for that reason it will not boot. but im happy to waste some dvd-r to customize your project to my needs. (like implementing my own xboxmediacenter.xml. if you need a good tester for your projects give me a PM wink.gif

Nice tip to rename the install.xbe to default.xbe.

Actually, you need to make a copy of install.xbe and name it default.xbe, as it needs both files.

It's cool that you are gonna make your own custom version of this, I've heard of a few people doing the same thing, which I'm totally cool with. I'm just glad that ppl are using it smile.gif

As far as another tester, I'll keep you in mind. If you wish to go through the AI and tell me any more problems that are lurking that would be cool.

You would've noticed the thread at XS Filter - Links to Xbox Warez and Torrents ** which tells you all the bugs found already, so you can use this at a starting point if you wish.

Anyways, great to see that my work is appeciated smile.gif
