Ok, to cut a long story short. When i bought my xbox, it had problems straight out of the box with the dvd drive. Music in games was skiping, games were not loading, read error's, funny dvd playback (the sound would continue but the image would remain and then catch up to the sound in fast forward ehhe). So I called up tech support, blah blah sent it away, got it back in the box that played a leading role in the ace ventura movie, in the first delivery scene (it was banged up like hell if u didn't get that).

I started it up and wow, they sent a lawmower back. What had they done with my xbox? The thing was so stuffed, the drive shcocked and rumbled the tv stand it was in, and i could hear it mowing away over the sound of my games. The drive did not experience any skipping problems (amazingly), but it took very long to load games, about 2x longer than before (after inserting a game while console is in menu, it took a recorded 18-20 seconds for the xbox logo to appear, compared to my friends 7 sec for the same game)
Sick of MS and their shit services I decided to try ignore it for a while, but then Two betrayals would not load up in HALO. Naturally, I was outraged. 10 seconds later I was on the phone with MS and away again for my box to star in holywood. Got the box back (it appeared it was run over by one less truck this time) started it up and I got a menu with a new version dash installed that included the live option (btw I'm in AUS so live isn't up and runnign here yet). Mad I thought, even if it did take a long time just to load up the dash of the of the hdd this time ( more data I guess).

What I didn't like was they wiped my hdd clean, so I had to start my legenadary quest for finishing HALO on ughh, legendary, again (playing on easy till I reach two betrayals). WOW, big improvement. HALO booted up in 5 seconds after putting the disk in compared to 18 like before. The new DVD-drive the isnatlled was definativley good. It can even read CDRW's now, though still chokes with normal CD-r's
Well anyway, cutting the crap, I was basically wondering why halo was feeling different, worse for some reason, like it was 0.4 beta or something. I really started to see what was going on in assault on the control room. The first thing I noticed, a definite problem, was the looping of the recharge sound. I got hit, my shields went down to 0 then the recharge sound kicked in, but my life was still only 1/4 way charged, then the sound looped again, and again till the shields recharged. wtf?
Then I saw a cloaked elite, only he was half cloaked. His legs were still visible, and when I ran up to him he didn't respond. I don't remember the game being this glitchy I thought.

All these weird things started happening. On assualt on the contol room, elties would just look over the platforms as I walked up to them, then they started shooting at me but their animation remained the same, they were looking over the ledge with thier wepaons lowered and they were shooting out of their ass. Basically, animations started to screw up here and there. Covenants would just bend over and turn in cicles and not fight back properly. I remember shooting one of those little guys off the turrerts and he had no animation when dying, he just apeard on the floor dead the instant I shot him. I also saw gunfire come out of the walls at one point, and even got blown up by a grenade through a wall. Sometimes the cut-scenes would jerk around the map for a while before getting the right camera angles.
Everything just seems to be glitching. When killing covennant sometimes they just flip and bounce for no reason during their death animations.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on or how I can fix it? What could be causing this problem? Doesn't the xbox have some sort of error correction when reading data of the disk? It seems like it can't get anything right this time even though the dvd drive seems good.

I am really regreting buying an xbox atm, it has brought me nothing but crap and wasted my time efforts and money, even though HALO was one of the best games I've ever played when it wasn't screwing up.
Why the change? What the hell could they have done to my xbox? I don't think they even put it together properly, i can hear something heavy is loose inside when i move the xbox. They fix one thing they wreck another. I am in a constant loop of sending the xbox for getting one thing repaired and getting another wrecked.

Any help would be appreciated guys. I want to like xbox but it won't let me.


Oh and btw, does the new dash I have (with the live option) enable new support for the whole screen to slightly jump and magnify while playinng music. I though my tv was playing up but it seems to do it everytime.
