I Need A Macrovision Free Dvd Player
« on: October 25, 2004, 08:20:00 AM »

XMBC wont play the part of the dvd I need to take a clip from... Is there an add-on for a better working dvd player (for XMBC) or is there another DVD player for xbox that takes away macrovision, and can play all parts of a dvd? In addition, my hard drive is not large enought to rip this dvd, as the dvd is 8 full gigs.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe that if you use dvd2xbox you can copy only part of the dvd and will automatically remove macro.

If not that then maybe you can save the part you want through xbmc and then use dvd2xbox to remove the macro.

It doesnt for me. When I hook my the output of my tv to my camcorder, macrovision problems ensue, unless I were to use a macro free dvd program...

well i have an excuter bios and i run one of my xbox systems through a vcr and a dvd player and i have no issues at all. xbmc dosnt really work well for a dvd play back... either use msdash (or hacked msdash) or dvdx .  i dont believe any dvd program can shut off macrovison .... ur gona have to use a bios that does.
