XBMC will have better DVD support in the future (menu's). DVDx2 development stopped AFAIK.

You could install the original MS dashboard, it works fine next to UDE and EvoX (if you do the fonts->f0nts trick), I prefer it too for video.

Basically you take the original c:\xboxdash.xbe and edit it to load fonts from c:\f0nts instead of c:\fonts with a hexeditor. Now you can simply put it as msdash.xbe in your c:\ and copy the required maps (f0nts, Audio and xboxdashdata.*****) and link it in EvoX.
