Come on Xbox-Scene, surprised to see BenJeremy with that kind of comment. This is the first legal media center for the xbox, FriendTech don't want to tred water and start selling illegal stuff, this is why they worked with Gentoox (the best Linux OS on the Xbox, yes I have tried Xebian).
loki for a LEGAL FUCKING reason thats why. Guys, SHALLAX has had enough political shit from MEMBERS at xbox-scene and other areas, just LEAVE the bad comments ok! If you haven't tried it don't start ripping shallax it will not support G drive since not everyone will have a 160GB xbox ok! |
Hey, I'm not trying to get down on it.... just wondering why a "legal" XBE loader can't be built to launch this thing (we do have, after all, a legal OpenXDK to build valid executables), same as some of the Linux distributables, and use a FATX-compatible file system.
Why would it need to be on E:? M$ can always look at the drive to see if it's a "legit" 8 or 10GB drive, so a custom F: partition is somewhat a pointless in regards to "stealth".
I just don't see any reason why a self-contained XBE-based Linux launcher, running the media center (compatible woth FATX), can't be made. It doesn't have to LAUNCH other XBEs (though that shouldn't be too hard to do, either, technically and legally in a non-Cromwell BIOS)
Oh, and I also must plead ignorance on the much Linux stuff.... so if I'm missing some fine technical points, please point them oput to me. I thought Linux distros could currently handle being launched by M$ Hacked BIOSes and read/write FATX partitions.
