lol.. i did a search for the tut and this thread popped up. I'm in the same boat.

I "installed" it last night. At least i think i did. I can't copy any games though.

in order to copy games over u can use a program called xcommander.  Just remember that you need to own the game to copy it over or it is piracy which is against the law...

yes u can use xcommander or dvd2xbox, dvd2xbox is easier
in order to copy your own games that you own    transfer the .xbe file along with all the files to a file like f:/apps/DVD2XBOX,
u then need to end the .ini file in evox (which i hope u use bc it is the best) to auto add items or put it in madatory.....

I am in the same boat aswell, and its still not clear to me how to do this upgrade.  I ave Dvd2Xbx v4 and i have downloaded Dvd2Xbox 5.7 can somebody post some instructions on how to replace my current v4 of dvd2xbox with the new v5.7 i have.  the 5.7 i downloaded has so many files...seems to be a lot more than whats on the xbox atm.  is this normal?  Newbie here..  help much appreciated.

Let me try...
take the file you downloaded from Mirc channelz.  First off you need to have winrar.  Find it and use it to view the files you download off of mirc.  One of them should look like a stack of books.  Single click on it and select extract to.  Before that you should create a folder on your desktop called dvd2xbox.  then extract that file into it.  You should wind up with an (acl...logs...media...patches...default.xbe...dvd2xbox msinfo doc...dvd2xbox xml doc) folders.  If you do your almost set.  Now Ftp to your box and drop that dvd2xbox folder you extracted all those files into the folder for your apps.  Now you should be done.  And I would just delete that old version of dvd2xbox off of your xbox first.  Just to eliminate any confusion over which one is which...hope this helps...

Got it right the other day!  Found out from a couple of other threads that I, like others had only downloaded the source code files!  Got the Proper Dvd2xbox files, FTP'd then into my apps folder on the xbox and all of a sudden Roberts my Mothers Brother!!

I don't have dvd2xbox on my modded box.  Can I install it off of a cd-rw, or do I have to ftp to the box?

Maybe, but I don't have a 'crossover cable' as of yet (I assume that is different that a regular ethernet cable)... so it is possible/difficult to install with cd-rw?

i dont wanna sound like a newb  ...i mod halo 2 and all but.. i dont know how to put dvd2xbox on my
   xbx   im guessing its sumin like when i flash fxp my xbox to mod the files or chang them but i wanna be sure    and do i need anything else besides dvd2xbox to copy games/dvds  to my xbx   if any 1 doesnt mind sending instructions to me and maby a link to a download if i need any thing else      AIM= squeekers6000        and my current xbx gamer tag is tolegit4u    in like a cuple weeks im gonna mod tha 1 in mathcmakin   but its legit right now

ok so i'm FTPing into my xbox, and i'm working on transferring dvd2xbox, but for some wierd reason i can't make a folder or transfer anything in my F drive. did i leave something out on the evox.ini? or can i just put the program on my C, E, or X drives? some help would be swell

hey i put dvd2xbox onto xbox but it doesnt show up in apps even though i ftp'd it into /E/Apps or whatever so can someone help me . also can i mod halo 2 maps without copying game to xbox harddrive because i managed to ftp maps to comp?
