What Is Up With People In Bst Lately?
« on: March 16, 2004, 08:49:00 AM »

Lately, there have been tons of people trying to get deals by saying that their friend, or neighbor, or uncle works at Best Buy, Gamestop, etc.  What the hell is up with these people?  I could care less if your sister's boyfriend's mother's stepdad's nephew's cousin works there - it is not going to get you anywhere in the BST thread of XB-S!  If you can get such a good deal there, why even bother with wasting people's time on here.  A lot of people on here aren't out to make a lot of money and are just helping other people get what they need.  Yea, you need a little profit but I think sellers are pretty reasonable on here.  I am just sick of hearing people say they can get a better deal elsewhere to try to lower the prices of the seller.  We all know that most of the time it is BS so just quit it already.

Thanks,
Fin

Why should you care? Are you buying something from them? I don't see the argument in this. They aren't doing anything wrong.

No, when people buy things from you, they try to talk you down by using that as leverage.  It not that big of a deal but I just have been seeing it a lot lately.

it would fall under:
QUOTE
Thread Crapping
Thread crapping is anything unrelated to the topic at hand. Some examples:

    * Making fun of other peoples offers.
    * One-emoticon posts
    * Excessive swearing and pointless insults
    * Extremely low-ball, unrealistic offers.
    * Anything along the lines of "That price is too high!"
    * ANYTHING off-topic.

Moderators have the final say in what is thread crapping and what isn't. Don't get angry if your post gets deleted, just read the rules topic again. DO NOT THREAD CRAP!! IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN AN ITEM, DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD!!

Price comparisons
You are not allowed to compare (price, quality or anything else) of someone's items in their thread. Example, if someone is selling a hard drive, and you say, "Well, it's $20 cheaper at http://www.website.com". It is their thread - they can sell their item at whatever price they want, and they are free to adjust their prices without your support. Price comparisons are considered thread craps and you can have your account muted for it.

I'm sure.
fin1581, if you see something like that happening, PM an active mod (look at the list at the bottom of the main forum page for red or blue nicks) or PM a BST mod
