New forums, General Chat Changes

Thanks for adding the Politics/Religion, Sports, and Wrestling forums.  Now mindless blather in general chat can be even more useless :).  Thanks guys.

PS:  My thanks ARE sincere...despite the wording.

LOL... Just rename the polotics/religion one to  flamethrower.gif

I'm sure there are going to be some pretty stong views posted in there, and some conflicting ones as well. Which will lead to arguments.

It was a good idea to make those, so the threads don't clutter up the other areas of the forums, yet it just seems like it's going to be the "fught club" in there or something.

Great idea!!!

BTW, I noticed a lot of the old posts like from early mid 2003 in the political forum... How freaking long did it take to wade through all the general posts and sort them all over there - holy cow  you guys are dedicated, I would have totally just started the forums and left the old stuff in general... i'm lazy i guess:)

actually.. took about 10 minutes per forum. Longer when the forum was acting up.


...did a very basic search.. using a handful of term.. and moved a handful over to flesh them out.  The other mods as they get some free time.. will try to move more of the appropriate threads over from GEN to one of the 3 new forums.

If GEN was ever removed.. there would be enough off topic forums to fill it's place.  We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.. assuming we do.

good god what happend to this site, i think general and pc help was enough alone.

this is afterall a XBOX website.

we dont need all these stupid forums, that are only making this incredibly slow forum, even slower.

my 2 cents.

I do find it odd to come to xbox-scene and see off-topic forums broken down to that level of detail, but they probably aren't making it any slower since they all existed before just crammed in general.  I hope they go away but this isn't my site and no one tells me where to click anyway so I just don't need to go there.  

I figure as long as the on-topic forums stay helpful and relevant it really doesn't matter what's happening in off-topic, it shouldn't effect the "scene" much.

 More forums does not necessarily translate into MORE posts.  It's simply a division of the GEN forum.  Idea being.. topical discussions.  

Easier for moderators to manage.. as they can handle topics they actually have an interest in.. as opposed to the dumping ground that GEN is.

Easier for members to find decent discussion on a given topic. (god willing)

If any of the new forums die out.. they can always be re-merged with THE DUMP (General renamed)

Added automotive for the tuners out there.  I actually found less interest (on this site) in Automotive than in Wrestling.. but it won't hurt to see if it takes off.
