Linkboks + Aol + Dial-up
« on: March 25, 2004, 07:32:00 PM »

ok why would you want to do this exactly?
if pc/laptop right there, better off using it
also aol has serious issues with ICS cuz you don't connect directly to internet with their service. you connect to their servers which get the pages for ya and then send back to ya
very sucky

this is just more trouble than it's worth and you will find that using pc for net is much nicer experience

EDIT: if it's just to get bigger screen, just use video out from laptop
most of em should have video out anymore

Linkboks + Aol + Dial-up

I use AOL DSL and the program Wingate

http://www.wingate.com

But i need to use Avalaunch to load Linksbok , in the Avalaunch.xml i configured the DNS of AOL. You find it in D.O.S  write  ipconfig /all and  copy the DNS that it showed..
And dont forget to disable the proxy in the xml too, because with it enable the internet doesnt work.

With this all the internet features in Avalaunch will work too..  i think if this works with AOL dsl , will work with dialup AOL too

Thanks for replying... I had no problem getting on the internet with gentoox while using dial-up and aol.

I am downloading wingate right now but I wont be able to try it out until late tonight when I get off work. Again thanks for the replys.
