Well i got a 1.5 xbox softmoded with bert&ernie reloaded and i installed dvd2xbox on it (in the E: partition). I set it up properly and started it thru evox.

I tried to rip a game (007 AUF i think) and all i was getting in the dvd2xbox window was an 11 mb video file (or something).

Did i do anything wrong? Is there a way around this?

Yes, the issue is excactly the same when trying to view the drive thru Boxplorer or thru FTP.

I also tried backing up Splinter Cell tyoday and the dvd2xbox app told me it was an 11 mb video file. I am also using the bert & ernie bigfonts package. Maybe someone can shed some light on this issue.

All I can think of is have most recent version of dvd2xbox. Mine works perfect but then again I have a Xenium in my xbox......

ok heres the thing let the box relize its a game first, maybe even play a few minutes then IGR then go to the prog and try it again, i had to do this with a few games.

This issue is already covered in some other threads.
It seems that the softmod fools some apps regarding the disk. Unfortunately we don't have a solution to fix this.

Hey WiSo do you know why these backing up utilities dont work with the softmods. I actually tried running the Splinter Cell gamesave exploit and putting a -habibi signed dvd2xbox copy on my xbox. At that point I ran it from the gamesave exploit and was able to back up Splinter Cell. Maybe you could explian this.

Softmods make use of dash,font or sound exploits and you don't need any hardware modifications.
@coltxL2717: unfortunately not. chefelf tries to identify the problem and you can find some threads about it.

problem solved:

you just need to install the audio hacks or an older (i had bert cheated on ernie (but these are dangerous ones, no clock protection))

i suggust audio hacks

i had the exact same problem and solved it yesterday by uninstalling the font hacks and installing mordens, no problem at all useing the 007 installer.

worked on 2 xbox's (1.0 and a 1.1)

just make sure you have dash 4920 (from slayer's iso, just overwrite your C drive pretty much)
