Well, although I begun experimenting on this last August, it was for no more than 2 or 3 days, and I put this on hold until last month: it turned out to actually display things, so that motivated me and I worked a couple more days to put it together. In the end I think it was no more than say 6-10 days of effective work. No kidding! Wasn't that hard, really, at least way easier than I thought. If you don't believe me, grab a copy of links-hacked and do a diff. There is some work, I won't deny it, but most of the files are not or little modified. The Links code's quite a mess, frankly

, but it turned out to be highly portable, even designed with that in mind (Links already exist on multiple different platforms).
What's disturbing me now are all these people with NTSC boxes who can't get it to start; I think I've spotted the bug. If I'm right, that is related to the adv. AV pack. Perhaps you can make it work in low resolution until it's fixed by disabling 480p, 720p, and 1080i modes in your original dash. Or use a standard AV cable :/
Did anyone but me ever managed to make it start in NTSC mode without the advanced pack?
