What do you mean you cant play games and have Gentoox?  You can have it as an app on your xbox and your dashboard of choice should have it show up.  If you mean you want to have a 'buddy list' on the screen WHILE you play, afaik there is no program that can do it.  You can use xlink w/bo-xlink and have a list of people playing Xbox games and talk to them.

I didn't know about booting linux from a dashboard
There must be old tutorials what i read about that you can only have Linux

So can i install Linux on a Xbox with 10gb hdd or is it too big?
