I have to agree with you guys about Avalaunch. This is what I found:
Xbox FTP Client to EvoX: less than 1 MB/sec (typically)
Avalaunch to Avalaunch: 10 MB/sec!!
The other cool thing about Avalaunch is that it can detect the other Xbox, so you don't even have to enter its IP!
On crossover cables:
If you're using a crossover cable, it'll work, but you have to reboot a few times in order to be able to detect the link. The best way is probably this:
1. Connect Xbox A to Xbox B with a crossover cable.
2. Make sure Avalaunch is configured for two different IPs on the two machines.
2. Boot Xbox A. It will not be able to detect a link.
3. Boot Xbox B. It should be able to detect the link and grab its IP.
4. Reboot or relaunch Avalaunch on Xbox A. It should also be able to grab its IP.
5. If not, reboot each machine again, one at a time.
6. Transfer.
This should also work with Xbox FTP Client and xToolBox (with EvoX if you want). The same even goes for PCs if you ever connect them through a crossover cable -> Reboot until it connects. The "Repair" option in XP may also work.
